Job Description

 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Litmos is a key member of the Litmos Executive Leadership Team (ELT).  Reporting to the CEO, the CFO is accountable for the general administration of the global finance and accounting function, as well as internal audit, treasury, global tax, etc. The CFO ensures adherence to company’s policies and governance and fosters a culture of compliance in every aspect of doing business in a global organization.

 

The incoming leader will be closely involved in the scaling of our company strategy. They will be a collaborative partner to the leadership team and must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to support the growth of our business.  

 

What you’ll do:

 

Deal Support:

  • Provide leadership in business review, pipeline and Forecast meetings.
  • Provide proactive financial advice and oversight in contract negotiations and deal structuring for strategic opportunities to increase profitability and revenue.
  • Contribute to the achievement of cash collection targets internally and externally.
  • Design, implement and maintain business and payment models in partnership with third party financing companies to support direct and indirect business.
  • Ensure all deals are completed at the highest of ethical and professional standards.

  

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Partner closely with the business in leading the planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities
  • Provide strong analytical and management input (based on macro-economic, industry and internal data)
  • Provide proactive financial advice and solutions for strategic direction and insight on opportunities/process improvements to increase profitability and revenue and to identify efficiency and growth opportunities.
  • Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the go-to-market processes and structures, owning the related financial planning as well as performance monitoring.

 

Compliance and Governance

  • Act as a voice of conscience of the company.
  • Coordinate responses to matters raised by internal and external auditors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance and safeguards the Company’s trust and reputation.
  • Provide strong oversight around business quality from a compliance/governance standpoint and be willing to challenge positions, models, and specific transactions, if warranted. 
  • Guide/coach the CEO on overall governance as well as act as a sounding board on downstream issues that could emanate, to provide a realistic view on implications of decisions.

 

 What you bring:

 

  • Proven CFO or high potential VP of Finance/divisional CFO with experience in a high growth software company environment ($100M+) (required)
  • Private Equity and/or Board Reporting Experience (required)
  • Experience with a subscription-based business model as well as comprehensive understanding of SaaS unit economics (ACV, MRR, etc.) (required)
  • History of implementing or optimizing FP&A process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic) (required)
  • Operational CFO - demonstrated curiosity about other functional areas where they can drive operational EBITDA improvements and implement successful cross-functional initiatives and drive towards profitable growth (required)
  • Proven experience in developing, retaining, and leading A+ talent across finance and accounting (required)
  • Proven experience setting up and managing well-defined metrics and KPIs to track performance across functions and provide transparency into the business (required)
  • Degree in finance or accounting, ideally with MBA in Finance preferred
  • Cybersecurity or broader B2B software experience a plus
  • M&A due diligence & integration experience with successful exits in equity-backed environment highly desirable
