Travel Implementation Consultant

Responsible for managing 15-20 active direct and indirect implementation projects for the web-based, online applications of Concur Travel and Concur Travel & Expense. Complete complicated, multi-national implementations within aggressive timeframes while consistently delivering exceptional levels of work quality and client and agency satisfaction

This position will be based out of SAP Concur’s Bangalore office and requires working hours & days aligned to support North American clients that are based on the Professional Platform.

In the first 12 months you will deliver:

  • Work with clients and agency resources to identify key business requirements and configure the Concur Travel application to meet those requirements
  • Configure Concur Travel for integration to Concur Travel & Expense, and perform knowledge transfer and advice on best practices to the client for effective use of Concur Travel & Concur Travel & Expense
  • Keep clients, agency resources, and management informed of implementation activities and progress through regular communications, meetings and status reports, and by reporting exceptional circumstances in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand the general value proposition of managed corporate travel, in particular, how an online booking tool can lead to employee buying behaviors that lead to cost optimizations for companies
  • Ability to collaborate with TMC/Platform partners for deliverables and accountable for driving project closure.
  • Ability to perform knowledge transfers and set expectation with TMC Partners
  • Pro-actively coordinate and manage tasks and milestones to achieve implementation targeted time frames and ensure department NPS scores and ARR are achieved.
  • Define and execute all types of Concur Travel project implementations
  • Ensure completion of deliverables, managing schedules and meeting milestones
  • Gather information from customers, evaluate their needs and create implementation solutions
  • Manage project status meetings and communicate project status
  • Provide single conduit into Concur resources for Partner project manager during deployment
  • Contribute to the development of templates and professional deployment documentation
  • Actively manage expectations, scope & multiple stakeholders to avoid delivery escalations

In order to accomplish this you will need to:

  • Maintain active documentation of what is completed for the client
  • Ensure completion of deliverables, managing schedules with creative and technical success.
  • Liaison with client team members and Concur internal resources to ensure understanding and clear communications.
  • Consistently communicate project status with Client; Expense Manager/Coach
  • Represent the Department on cross-functional teams.
  • Adhere to Concur SOP’s for escalations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain functional and technical product knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Concur’s implementation and support practices and methodologies
  • Provide contributions to Concur’s project methodology and document library which includes development of new documents/processes as well as updates to existing documents/processes.
  • Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.

What do you need to bring?
Education, Experience & Training required:

  • Graduate with good academics
  • Prior business travel industry preferably with a Travel Management Company, with specific knowledge of various OBTs highly desired. Global Distribution System (GDS) experience also useful. Understanding and experience on how clients can optimize their travel programs through use of an OBT, as well as approvals process, quarterly reporting and alignment with a TMC
  • 5+ years’ experience in direct customer facing/consulting for international clients. Ability to be pragmatic to client requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in project management in technology or travel industry, preferably with hosted web-based software
