The Principal Services Architecture Expert focusing on Business and Industry:

  • Acts as a senior advisor to the customer with a broad Application-, LoB- or Industry-focus, covering the entire company of a big/complex, multinational customer end-to-end.
  • Understands the as-is situation and goals of a big / complex customer holistically (e.g. industry, LoB), can translate it into an appropriate business-driven IT-roadmap and design (processes, applications, systems) based on SAP's offerings and SAP´s Cloud strategy, with a clear focus on customer success.
  • Operationalizes the customers' business strategies, identifies relevant components, approaches, input required, etc. to derive the best possible solution and helping our customers reap the increasingly differentiating benefits of our cloud solutions.
  • Challenging existing solutions/ approaches/ concepts, to generate a state-of-the-art and future-ready outcome. 
  • Takes a step back if required and re-defines concepts, so that a constant improvement is guaranteed (agility in solution design)
  • Clarifies expectations from various stakeholders, especially in very difficult cases; creates a solution which integrates diverse points of views and serves as a starting point for future SAP business. Collaborates with customer / SAP team for the best possible implementation. 
  • Drives knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers. Documents successful approaches, tools etc. and makes them available at SAP internally.
  • Collaborates and co-innovates with the respective development teams
  • Ensuring overall integration during the implementation project
  • Reinforces that the SAP Cloud Platform is the unique integration and extension platform
  • Leverages the capabilities of the Business Technology Platform (BTP)

Industry Focus:

  • Designing the interaction between business and IT for optimal outcomes based on effectiveness and efficiency, covering industry, corporate functions / LoB, as well as the impact for very complex organizations and processes.
  • Designing new and/or improved business models and supports their realization, based on the associated value promise
  • Defining the strategic, conceptual and organizational scope for the design of the SAP-centric IT landscape, especially when customer requirements are very challenging.
  • Developing and executing Innovation Roadmaps for customers, designing business processes in close cooperation with the customer and laying them as a foundation for the IT implementation. This especially applies for extraordinary situations, to generate delightful solutions for big/complex customers.
  • Staying up-to-date with newest developments driving the Digital Transformation as well as the top business trends; using this knowledge to expand the list of the SAP innovation story with tangible customer engagements.

Cloud and large Transformation Projects focus:

  • Facilitating customer success by deploying technology and services primarily from SAP and its partners. The success is always measurable in business value and customer contentedness.
  • Understands his/her respective role in the overall SAP Front office team and acts accordingly 
  • Integrating SAP's Cloud solutions into their overall Enterprise Architecture, especially in very challenging scenarios
  • Promoting the consumption of SAP cloud solutions, that have an added value for the customer’s business 
  • Avoiding escalations especially by proactive leadership of the customer and the deployment of an appropriate project & program governance 
  • Troubleshooting success-critical customer issues related to SAP, independent of their nature 
  • Acting based on experience in project delivery and domain knowledge (e.g. SAP's solution, platform, integration concepts, organizational change management, business issues resulting from the deployment of cloud solution)
  • Adviser and mentor of diverse teams, which includes customer, partner and SAP resources
