Head of Marketing Greater China

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Head of Marketing, Greater China (GC) is a senior level position that is accountable for aligning marketing strategy and program execution in support of GC revenue and growth objectives.  The Greater China Region represents a high growth market for SAP.

 

The critical responsibilities of this role include plan alignment and leading a high-performing team of 30+ direct marketers, as well as an extended team of 30+.  The role will have a heavy focus on demand generation, account-based marketing, pipeline progression and customer adoption marketing.

 

This position reports directly to the Head of Global Field Marketing and will partner with the GC Regional President and COO.  This leader is a member of the GC President’s extended leadership team.

 

 

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

  • The candidate must demonstrate the capability to drive the marketing strategy from vision to execution. S/he should thrive in a demanding, quick turnaround environment where change is a daily reality. Must have experience in managing budgets effectively across multiple departments, setting up effective metrics and business processes. The candidate must be data-driven, outcome focused and possess a strong orientation in driving change management and transformation.

 

  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with executives both external (customers & partners) plus internal SAP executive leadership

 

  • Demonstrated experience working strategically and collaboratively with cross functional teams in matrixed environments

 

  • S/he must be willing to travel frequently and demonstrate expert knowledge of working across all aspects of marketing from the creative and corporate functions to driving program and campaign execution and delivering pipeline and outcomes at the field level.

 

  • B2B marketing experience in the High Tech (hardware or software) sector is required.  More importantly, s/he must have experience leveraging digital and social strategies to drive account engagement, demand creation and revenue impact.

 

  • This position requires a minimum of 10 years of business experience successfully leading a large team in a matrixed organization. Strong preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in the GC region.

 

 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Marketing Strategy Excellence

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative marketing programs in partnership with the Global Demand Center and Customer Success organization to achieve revenue and pipeline objectives.
  • Drive differentiated marketing strategies across the full customer life cycle including account acquisition, account expansion and adoption.
  • Provide strategic direction and drive strong alignment, integration and collaboration in the joint business planning process across the region and with the GDC.

 

Marketing Operations Excellence

  • Ensure cross organizational alignment and collaboration across Market Units, Portfolios and Segments to drive pipeline and revenue impact.
  • Lead the team to operational excellence ensuring scale, best practice definition, continuous learning and ensure the transition from strategy to execution`.
  • Ensure alignment between Customer Success, Field Marketing and Global Demand Center.
  • Effectively manage the marketing budget and make effective investment decisions based on corporate, marketing and regional priorities.
  • Create and communicate goals, objectives and KPI's for all marketing initiatives and ensure measurements are achieved.
  • Build productive and influential executive relationships with internal and external constituents.
