YOUR ROLE

The individual would lead SAP’s Revenue and GTM strategy in specific markets across Greater China and drives strategy to execution. Key tasks include product/market strategies, implementation of strategic initiatives, and transformational programs. This role will sit as part of the regional strategy leadership team working under the guidance of the Regional President, and also be part of the Global Revenue and GTM Strategy team, which reports into the Customer Success Board Member (i.e. SAP Chief Revenue Officer). As the Head of Strategy, you will also advise SAP senior executives on key strategic decisions for GC and beyond (as relevant and required). You will pioneer innovation in the strategy process, e.g. drive and scale strategic partnerships in a specific market.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play the conduit for the region and global strategy team to drive SAP’s big growth push into  strategic markets across Greater ChinaDrive all aspects of problem solving and strategy formulation including: identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analyses, synthesizing conclusions in strategic initiatives
  •  Analyze key trends in the region/country and provide actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders based on assessments of market and competitors
  • Define and drive new Business Models in the country, being responsible for the execution of long term Strategic Alliances with selected partners/customers
  • Analyze local business operational performance to drive transformational programs aligned to global/regional strategy and focus
  • Take prominent roles in execution of global strategic initiatives, projects or major parts of strategy to execution

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years overall experience
  • Ideally, significant strategy experience at IT industry or previously working at a strategy consulting firm.
  • Strategic thinker, high degree of creativity and innovation, being passionate about taking initiatives from ideation to execution
  • Strong ability to develop hypotheses, undertake sophisticated analyses, synthesize findings and formulate strategic recommendations
  • Experience working in Greater China and Asia with a deep knowledge of financial, competitive, regulatory environment across the country, specifically in the Technology sector
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation and interpersonal skills at executive to project team levels
  • Experience in formulating corporate level JV / partnerships
  • Fluent Business level English and Mandarin required
  • Deep understanding of how large corporations operate internally, their cultures, and what it takes to get things done when multiple business units and executives are involved
  • Works well within high performing teams, while also being able to work independently and make thoughtful decisions with limited information
  • MBA from top-tier school (preferred)
