PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

GCO Operations focuses on the successful creation, deployment, and execution of sales supporting processes, tools, and services, across all GCO areas (incl. License, Services, and Education Sales) and in close alignment with related lines of business (incl. HR and Finance). 

 

As a member of the Center of Expertise (CoE), you are a core driver of simplification by defining and deploying standards. In contributing expertise and knowhow, you create efficient processes, repeatable practices, and supporting assets towards smoother end-to-end execution in the field.  

 

The success of a Center of Expertise and therefore for your role is based on three core priorities: 

  • Process adoption and related business impact or improvements (i.e. forecast accuracy, forecast coverage, deal conversion…)
  • Simplification - process relevance across multiple business dimensions for greater alignment/efficiency
  • Incubation success and turnover of improvements in collaboration with Business Partners
  • In addition, expert roles are expected to look beyond their current scope and team, sharing their expertise, coach for success, and lead by example.

     

     

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

 

  • Influence the dimensions of the business: Analyze and understand business requirements to shape the vision for your core processes. Influence business stakeholders to consider process implications as they define strategy and Go-to-Market.
  • Lead process evolution: Define a clear creation and execution strategy including required handshakes, touch points to other processes (CoEs), deliverables, and measures of success. Consider all business dimensions in order to build processes that drive simplifications across all GCO sales teams. Collaborate with relevant business areas beyond GCO (incl. Marketing, HR, Finance…)
  • Establish your Expertise: Challenge and develop your expertise consistently in order to design best-in-class process standards. Coordinate input from the wider CoE community to integrate feedback, best practice, and relevance. Define the strategy and requirements for relevant practices and tools, and secure stakeholder alignment against respective delivery timelines.
  • Scale Deployment: Collaborate closely with senior Business Partners to secure timely execution against agreed milestones for deployment, adoption, and enablement. Enable scale by leveraging the appropriate deployment and enablement channels. 
  • Incubate Practices: Strategically pre-select ideal areas for incubation and align with Business Partners to define next steps. Evaluate feedback and integrate it into your broader process strategy.
  • Measure success: Establish clear KPIs and measures to evaluate process adoption and impact in line with the corporate strategy and business priorities. Assess progress consistently. Coach and influence to close gaps.
  • Be a thought leader: Establish your credibility, influence change, and get buy-in to enable smooth process adoption and success. Lead by example to enable the right behaviors and cascade the right messages to all teams. Represent and showcase your process and progress in light of the overall operations vision. 
  • Manage your stakeholders: Build a trusted relationship with your stakeholders and enable a one-team approach for greater transparency and impact, expanding process standards to other lines of the business when of benefit. Your direct customer are the Business Partners, your core stakeholders include other Operations Centers of Expertise, Business Enablement, Business Services, and Sales Managers. You may also closely collaborate with HR, Finance, and Marketing depending on your process focus.

     

    Centers of Expertise exist on global and regional level. They closely collaborate and interlock as one unit, working towards common goals. Global Centers of Expertise will directly engage with global sales leaders and Business Partners on process decisions and adoption. Regional Centers of Expertise will collaborate closely with regional and local Business Partners. 

     

    As an expert, you may engage or manage specific projects identified within the operations scope and as relevant to your respective area of expertise.

     

     

    EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor degree (University)

     

     

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 12+  years of professional working experience within operations or related functions such as Finance; Experience of sales-related processes and function is an advantage
  • Project Management certification or respective experience preferred
