We are looking for an Engineering Director Manager leading one of our Client Platform teams located in the US, UK and Germany. You will work with an international and open-minded group of engineers focusing on empowering our engineers to build and deliver a great user experience with a robust abstraction between UI clients and API data processor. Together with your unit you will transform the strategy into an executable direction and enable your teams to provide platform services setting the basis for SAP Concur’s future UI applications.

Collaborate and communicate effectively. Identify your stakeholder and work closely with them, providing technical guidance to the product strategy, roadmap and architecture. Build transparency and manage changes by being able to successfully communicate without losing the intent and meaning of the message.

Coach & mentor. Constantly inspire and support your team members in adopting latest engineering practices and tools. Having an excellent understanding of the underlying technologies will help you to be an active participant helping your team members to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Drive Continuously delivery, measurement and learning. Set a direction and expectations in the leadership team and empower your teams to deliver on the direction. Measure success and manage the delivery accountability for your teams. Extend the understanding of the relevance of technology trends and practices by learning with your unit at the intersection of business and technology.



  • University degree in computer science, engineering or similar area
  • Extensive experience in leading teams / larger projects with the ability to work with, understand, and motivate people
  • Excellent technology and architecture knowledge related to user experience / interface (Mobile & Web), dev ops and cloud computing
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: open-minded, team player, result oriented, motivated to work in an international and intercultural environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English



  • Proven track record of transforming business unit strategies / visions into viable missions, directions and area goals
  • Experience with managing managers
  • Profound experience with coaching teams in technology (e.g. as principal) and agile methods (e.g. as scrum master)
  • Extensive experience in building and operating platform services for business applications


  • At least 15 years of experience in software and/or product engineering or architecture
  • At least 10 years of experience in leading larger software project in an agile set up
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing people
  • At least 2 years in managing larger units with multiple teams
