This position will be hired in to SAP Litmos, which will become an independent company under Fransisco Partners in December 2022.

What you'll do

  • Understand Litmos product offerings, technology, security/data protection systems and policies to be able to provide a foundation for providing legal support throughout Litmos.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate inbound and outbound complex SaaS and professional services agreements with global enterprises, partners, and vendors balancing expansive revenue growth with long-term risk.
  • Drive internal legal initiatives covering topics such as employment law, IP strategy, commercial terms strategies, security and data compliance, and risk management.
  • Establish and enhance internal legal policies and compliance processes including creation of company agreements, forms, and legal playbooks to streamline processes.
  • Lead global cross functional efforts, effectively collaborating with internal stakeholders and business teams such as Product, Engineering, Business Development, Finance, and Sales. 
  • Advise and guide multiple levels of Litmos sales and customer success teams through new sales and customer renewals.
  • Remain up-to-date on relevant industry, privacy and tech law.
  • Manage outside litigation resources as necessary and resolve legal-related disputes with third parties.
  • Aid in the building of a nimble and impactful legal function; potentially manage future hires that will join the Litmos legal department.

 

What you bring

  • Active Bar membership.
  • 4+ years of relevant, progressive experience.
  • Experience with cloud and software industries, including SaaS and a desire to work on legal issues in these areas.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property, data privacy and security law and experience negotiation complex transactions on those issues.
  • Exceptional judgment, balancing risk with business priorities.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) across all levels of the organization with an energetic, service-oriented attitude.
  • A confident advisor who can help the Litmos sales teams through difficult customer sales with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Experience with legal operations and technology implementation to streamline legal and sales functions.
  • Independent and self-motivated with great work ethic and a perspective of helping out wherever needed.
