Job Overview: 


The Marketing Operations Analyst – US SMB, focuses on Small and Midsize Business (<1,000 employees) within the US. This role analyzes the marketing operations process and technologies to optimize system efficiencies and apply best practices. The ideal candidate has strong operational skills with extensive marketing technology, marketing automation, CRM, and database management knowledge and experience.  Additionally, the candidate will have strong critical thinking skills, experience with marketing strategy and implementation, and can interpret and communicate operational processes and improvements in a concise and meaningful way for stakeholders.


This role supports the entire US SMN Marketing division which includes its marketers, database, process, and technology initiatives, and is responsible for unlocking potential within the tracking of marketing efforts, our customer lifecycle, lead funnel process, lead scoring, and system integrations -- adapting dynamically to business and market needs.


As a member of the US SMN Process & Insights team, the Marketing Operations Analyst, is integral to the vision of the business unit and building a predictable, efficient, scalable growth engine. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Insights – US SMN Marketing.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure operational efficiency – Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of lead processing times, marketing to sales follow-up, system errors, impact of technologies, impact of system optimizations, etc.
  • Apply best practices for tracking marketing efforts and correctly attribute marketing efforts to KPIs, sales pipeline, and closed won deals
  • Troubleshoot and identify system errors that break the natural flow of the customer experience
  • Build and implement customer journey framework within our marketing technology ecosystem – collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Project management & implementation of operational initiatives, including project plans and timelines, properly identifying key stakeholders and resources (RACI matrix), and coordination between cross-functional partners
  • Partner with IT & Marketing Operations to solution the operationalizing of key strategy initiatives. This will require a working knowledge of both Marketing Automation, CRM systems, and general Marketing Technologies.



    Other Responsibilities:


  • Maximize operational efficiencies of our lead scoring process within our marketing automation platform
  • Develop new work flow rules to optimize the identification and routing of new leads and contacts entering our database
  • Campaign standardization – naming convention, statuses, etc.
  • Database field management – Audit and upkeep of fields within marketing automation and CRM systems to ensure relevance and standardization
  • Documentation of standard processes for onboarding and scalability
  • Identify and present insights and recommendations to executive-level stakeholders
  • Partner with Web team to optimize integrations between digital systems and MarTech systems
  • Partner with Demand Central and Marketing Automation Manager to create and optimize standard processes with our marketing automation platform
  • Partner with Process Improvement Manager to evaluate technology and process change impact




    Education, Experience & Training required:

  • 5+ years of Marketing Operations experience in both a marketing and sales environment
  • Hands on experience in key business systems such as CRMs and marketing automation platforms a must.
  • Strong interest in marketing technologies and system integrations
  • Strong understanding of how data work flows push/update within CRM and marketing automation platforms
  • Experience working across new business, client, and channel divisions
  • Experience in business to business marketing of cloud or high technology products or services preferred.
  • Experience in customer journey analysis and demand funnel analysis.
  • Experience with data normalization and development using SQL/ other query tools a plus.
  • Handling ticket requests – creating, updating, and closing out service requests
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, computer science, or marketing.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
