Summary

As a (Senior) Backend Engineer in the IPA team within the Platform Services Group you will work in the domain of identity management & authentication and help build a seamless administration and governance experience for our customers. You will take a vital role in driving new features with the aim of scaling our product offering.

The team’s current focus is on backend with some frontend related work expected in the future.

What you will do:

• Contributing to the entire cycle of product development, from first ideas and brainstorming sessions to continuously delivering improvements based on customer data

• Bootstrapping and developing end-to-end product increments in collaboration with the team

• Working on existing applications as well as the inception of new microservices

• Proactively gather, understand and manage requirements and expectations

• Collaborating with other teams and tech leads across the organization on solving challenging technical as well as business problems

• Ensuring compliance with our security guidelines

• Responsible for end-to-end service delivery and operations (development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, incident response & on-call)

• Mentor less-experienced peers and be mentored by more-experienced peers

Would be great if you bring:

• 5+ years experience working in cross-functional teams relying on agile methodologies

• Passionate about fast iterations, test driven development, pair programming, pragmatic development approaches and fail-fast attitude

• In-depth knowledge of at least one JVM based language, e. g. Java; exposure to functional programming is a plus

• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and related cloud technologies

• Hands-on experience with SQL databases, at best MySQL

• Experience with microservice architectures

• Experience in safely and efficiently refactoring larger pieces of code

• Challenging existing and defining new architectural standards

• You are a strong team player and excellent communicator

• Experience in the domain of user management, provisioning and authentication is a plus

• Bonus: you are interested in frontend development or even have some experience with React, Typescript, Node.js, GraphQL or similar modern web frameworks
