Summary & Role Information
SAP Signavio Business Modeling and Workflows is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer for our Developer Experience team.
The Quality Engineer will work together with all engineering teams, looking for ways to improve quality practices. As a guardian of the global system quality, the Quality Engineer will work towards creating a quality culture, by defining and driving adoption of a holistic approach to quality.
Part of your time will be spent on exploring and implementing new ways to shift left and automate quality activities. You will be working closely with both Product Owners and Engineers to review upcoming features, assessing the areas that influence the quality and value of our products and lead the continuous improvement process in terms of quality.
The Developer Experience team
The Developer Experience team is a balanced team with members having a core set of skills plus different specialties. As a whole, the team’s knowledge covers the entire stack. The team has the combined skills across its members to effectively ‘design, build, deploy, and operate’ the software throughout all development cycles.
What will you do:
- Drive improvement of overall quality across the entire software development lifecycle
- Assess core practices that directly influence product quality and value delivery (e.g. feedback loops)
- Design and drive adoption of quality strategies, with regard to
- Quality & test ownership
- Testing breadth
- Code quality and technical debt
- Test automation and tools
- Defect management
- Provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate Quality Engineers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and empower them to be autonomous.
- Establish and run a Community of Practice on quality related topics
What would be great if you have:
- Quality first mindset, promote quality as a value
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Experience with agile frameworks and agile testing methodologies
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional tasks to completion
- Knowledge of analysis and trace tools across multiple applications
- Knowledge of cloud processes and tools
- Experience in product release cycle management. Product standards knowledge. Knowledge on NFRs testing.
- Experience in selecting, designing, and implementing test automation tools
- Clear and effective communication across functions (developers, product owners, senior leadership)
- Collaboration and influence without authority skills to solve complex problems (many stakeholders, many dependencies, varying levels of legacy across teams)
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
