Summary
As an experienced Technical Product Owner in the IPA team within the Platform Services Group you will own a product area of the SAP Signavio Suite in the domain of identity management, provisioning & authentication. By taking a vital role in enhancing existing capabilities and driving new features, you will help building an outstanding administration and governance experience for our customers. 

 

This opportunity is the right role for talented strong leaders, who can create a product vision and the roadmap for one of our key suite services. Understanding and setting the priorities for the motivated team of engineers will be your main day-to-day responsibility.

What you’ll do

  • Your job is to make sure that the team works on what’s most important and valuable at any given time. To do that, you 
  • Work with product managers, Tech Lead and stakeholders to identify the next opportunities and problem spaces to focus on; create a roadmap based on our strategy 
  • Contribute to our overall product strategy in collaboration with Principal Product Owner and Product Lead, break it down into delivery milestones, EPICs and user stories and lead product strategy execution for your product area 
  • Own and manage the team's backlog for your product area, prioritize it by understanding customers’ and internal stakeholders’ challenges, objectives and needs, leveraging available data to make decisions and accelerate the time to value 
  • Proactively engage with our internal customers (other teams) and Stakeholder to align and negotiate scope, prioritization, and dependencies 
  • Distill business context, requirements, our objectives, as well expectations of internal and external customers into a clear picture 
  • Translate needs and manage expectations across the team and stakeholders 
  • Create transparency on progress, risks and scope changes through our established channels and artifacts 
  • Manage for progress, help remove impediments to ensure delivery 
  • You serve as the spokesperson and ambassador of the team, and celebrate their achievements towards the rest of the organization 
  • Enable and facilitate agile team ceremonies/ events, including refinements, plannings and review sessions

 

What you’ll bring

  • Hands-on experience in working as a Product Owner or Manager in an agile environment and the willingness to immerse yourself in a new domain
  • Ability to understand and translate customer business challenges and concerns into a solution-oriented discussion effectively 
  • Ability to lead through and create progress when things aren’t clear, or the way forward is not yet well-defined
  • Communication skills that allow you to translate between technical and business domains, adjust to different audiences and build relationships within and outside the team
  • A solid toolkit and methods that help you along the path from problem to a solution delivered and adopted (prioritization, concepting, slicing and aligning scope, planning and estimation etc.)
  • An eye on non-functional requirements such as security, performance, scalability, availability, cost and operations 
  • Strong user focus and methods - discovering user needs, introducing KPIs, metrics, etc.
  • Having work experience in a B2B environment or in an identity management & authentication domain is a plus
  • A willingness to be part of a domain split and building up a new team

The Platform Services Group is part of the Platform Group, one of five groups in the engineering department of SAP Signavio unit. We value consistency, modularity & re-usability, as well as simplicity.
The focus of the Platform Services Group are shared backend services providing integration and extensibility capabilities and thus forming fundamental building blocks for SAP Signavio’s Suite.

 

 

The IPA team owns the identity management & authentication domain which includes:

 

  • user login & single sign-on
  • customer on-/off-boarding
  • provisioning of users, groups, licenses
  • support administration of users, user groups and licenses
  • integration with external identity management solutions
  • integration with services of the SAP Business Process Intelligence suite
  • ensure security standards as well as data protection and privacy guidelines
