About the team

Within the New Ventures & Technologies (NVT) organization, the mandate of the Sustainability Engagement team is to support the digital sustainability transformation of SAP customers by end-to-end orchestration of ecosystem innovation, government funded projects, academia and accelerate organic innovation incubation with a holistic focus on sustainability. The SAP Sustainability Engagement team, located in several locations around the globe, works closely with product teams and stakeholders across the entire internal and external value chain to orchestrate innovation.


The role

As a working student (w/m/d) in development, you will hands-on work on future sustainability solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for all technical students who want to apply their knowledge for the greater good and to support a more sustainable future as well as learn how scaling of software solutions works.



  • Experience with tools for software project management (Apache Maven, Jenkins) and version control (Git)
  • Practical experience with Machine Learning and Python frameworks in the field of data science like Pandas and NumPy
  • Basic understanding of Big Data challenges and solutions
  • Previous work experience that included software development tasks is highly beneficial


Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree presently enrolled in a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Machine Learning
  • Programming skills in Java and/or Python, JavaScript is a plus
  • Ability to work independently on given tasks with support from a highly motivated team
  • Interest in digital innovation, sustainability and in SAP technology and cloud technology
  • Language skills: fluent German and English

Locations of our teams are global with a focus on Walldorf and Berlin. Virtual work is a given for us therefore this position can be filled with candidate from anywhere in Germany.
