SAP started in 1972 as a team of five colleagues with a desire to do something new. Together, they changed enterprise software and reinvented how business was done. Today, as a market leader in enterprise application software, we remain true to our roots. That’s why we engineer solutions to fuel innovation, foster equality and spread opportunity for our employees and customers across borders and cultures.

SAP values the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering creativity and building lasting relationships with our employees. We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce keeps us competitive and provides opportunities for all. We believe that together we can transform industries, grow economics, lift up societies and sustain our environment. Because it’s the best-run businesses that make the world run better and improve people’s lives.

In Brno branch you will be part of SAP Labs Network. SAP Labs are research and development locations that build and improve SAP core products. With 20 labs in 17 countries, SAP Labs drive thought leadership globally as well as in their local ecosystems, allowing SAP to innovate, grow, and succeed.
The Lab in Brno operates in four major development areas: S/4HANA Finance , S/4HANA User Experience, Globalization Services and Application Innovation Services directly supporting thousands of active SAP customers. Developers are directly involved in the newest products, which SAP plans to bring to market, using the latest technology such as in-memory computing, cloud-based applications, and advanced user interfaces.

We are seeking an English-speaking User Assistance Developer (technical writer) to join our international software-development team in Brno, Czech Republic, which localises different SAP solutions for use in different countries.
For this position, we are looking for someone who will create the documentation for our Treasury Management and Data Medium Exchange solutions.

You will work closely with the product owner, software developers, product management experts, and support engineers, working with them to understand the business processes and how the software covers them. You will then, together with the user assistance architect, develop the user assistance content (in English) that tells our customers how to implement, configure and run our software. In addition, you will review UIs for usability, and research and define terminology.
As well as conventional documentation, our team is increasingly looking at complementary forms of content, such as videos and graphics, and applying analytics to understand how our content is being used and improving it accordingly. We work closely with colleagues from support, too, to reduce the number of customer incidents through better UA content. We would, over time, ask you to incorporate more and more of these activities into your work.

  • University degree in technical communication, English, or business
  • Training or professional experience in technical writing
  • The abilities to think holistically about users’ needs with regard to the software and the user assistance content, and distil information from many (sometimes conflicting) sources into one set of clear instructions
  • Advanced English
  • Czech or Slovak language is an advantage, as is knowledge of treasury accounting

As well as this, you must be able to work to tight deadlines and organise your time well. You must be able to plan your work and communicate your progress to your stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

SAP Globalization Services localizes SAP’s software for use in different countries: We add features and functions to software solutions developed by other units so that they can run in different countries. We are very international and have software-development locations right across the world, including Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Portugal, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The GS User Assistance team is likewise international. We are friendly and innovative and have won several awards at SAP for great UA work. We have a clear customer focus, and we are at the forefront of many projects that aim to add value to the overall software.
