We’re looking for a talented, energetic, and highly motivated Marketing Director to lead the Belgium and Luxembourg marketing team and drive innovative audience-focused marketing from strategy to execution in a fun, entrepreneurial, and collaborative work environment.


Purpose and Objectives
 

The Marketing Director is an executive level position that bears responsibility and accountability for driving business results and organizational effectiveness. You will lead the development and implementation of SAP’s marketing strategy for increased awareness, competitive differentiation, thought leadership, revenue growth and customer loyalty. You are expected to drive innovative audience focused marketing from strategy to execution with an adequate mix of push and pull tactics, including branding, advertising, sponsoring, events, as well as digital, social media and search channels. Additionally, you will be in charge of evolving and motivating a best-in-class Marketing organization as well as of engaging with internal and external stakeholders on various levels, leaving a strong footprint as a thought leader in the market.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading the development and implementation of innovative marketing strategy and programs in partnership with the SAP BeLux Leadership Team to meet revenue and pipeline targets.
  • Leading the team to operational excellence ensuring scale, leveragability, best practice definition, continuous learning and ensure the transition from strategy to deliverable.
  • Building, retaining and evolving a high performing team with complementary strengths.
  • Giving people opportunity and latitude to grow and achieve.
  • Ensuring that persuasive, consistent and concise positioning occurs throughout all marketing programs within the customer segment/industry/line of business/SAP solution/market unit to position SAP as the preferred partner in digital transformation.
  • Creating and communicating goals, objectives and key performance indicators for all marketing initiatives and ensuring that return on investment is achieved.
  • Effectively managing the marketing budget and making decisions regarding investment levels for targeted customer segment, industry, solution or market unit opportunities.
  • Building productive and influential executive relationships with internal and external constituents - acting as thought leader in the market engaging with PR, analysts and influencers to advance SAP’s reputation in the country/market.
  • Ensuring cross-organizational alignment to identify best practices, opportunities, share learning, leveraged resources, innovation, etc.
  • Rewarding success and accomplishment with timely recognition of achievement.

 

As the Marketing Director SAP Belgium & Luxembourg, you will report into the Head of Marketing for EMEA North and closely engage with the BeLux Market Unit Leadership Team including Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer as well as Sales Heads to align on prioritization, progress, action items to improve performance and consistency with business strategy and go-to-market

 

Qualifications, skills, competencies and Education

 

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Open-mind, flexibility and versatility in adapting own strategy and decision making to rapidly evolving scenarios characterizing the addressed fast growth markets
  • Analytical; results & detail oriented
  • Strong skills related to people development, trust building, empowering, motivating and developing teams.
  • Eagerness to take initiative and exceed expectations
  • Communicate in Dutch and French
  • Excellent English communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and presentation skills
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in Marketing/Business Development/Sales, out of which at least 4 in leadership positions with proven track record of concrete business results
  • Broad knowledge of business drivers and dynamics of the Belgian marketplace. EMEA experience would also be a benefit
  • While experience in the high-tech sector is preferred, the successful candidate may also come from another industry such as consumer products where use of innovative web and social media strategies were used to impact revenue, transform brand and customer experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally (less than 10% of time)
  • Familiar with operating within matrix organizations, track record as a thought leader and influencer in physical or virtual communities.
