Role Information

Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) is a business unit in the Product Engineering Board Area. 

Enterprise Cloud Services supports customers throughout their cloud transformation and SAP S/4HANA adoption journey. We run the Intelligent Enterprise so they can be an Intelligent Enterprise. Our portfolio of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud  and SAP Cloud Application Services  turns SAP products into a solution-as-a-service on customer’s preferred infrastructure, including Hyperscalers, as one SAP.

 

As a Lead Security Engineer, you will lead and manage a variety of projects in Cybersecurity team. In this role, you will introduce new security services, technologies, and technical solutions.

You’ll work with principal architects, pioneering products and cutting-edge technology to implement comprehensive Vulnerability management solutions and EDR Solutions. You will also lead our Enterprise log management solution and use case development with SIEM - Splunk Enterprise Security and Big Data Technologies.

 

You will report directly to ECS Chief Security Officer and you will support the CSO office, responsible for the effective and efficient security strategy, security programs and services.

 The role is an individual contributor role.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Serve as lead Splunk engineer responsible for planning, designing, and implementing Splunk and Cribl infrastructure, including Enterprise Security. 
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and analyze overall health of log management infrastructure. Perform root cause analysis, recommend, and implement tactical and strategic solutions to problems.
  • Automate global, multi-site solutions with Ansible, Python, and Bash scripting techniques.
  • Onboard new data using various methods, such as Universal Forwarder Agent, Cloudwatch Log Agent, DB Connect, Syslog, HTTP Event Collector, Logging driver for containers, etc.
  • Designing SIEM & Splunk use cases for Vulnerability management solutions, Compliance and Governance Framework.
  • Design and implement use cases on EDR systems.
  • Assist and mentor other engineers with various Security tools related activities.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 8+ years of experience in Server & Network management
  • 5+ years of experience in SIEM & Big Data Technologies, with designing, implementation, and administration in large scale environment. 
  • Experience with Splunk and SIEM Enterprise Security a plus
  • Experience in Vulnerability management with Splunk a plus
  • Experience with various log ingestion methods and related products, such as syslog, dbConnect, and UF. Experience with Cribl is a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP logging architecture and related products.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, Node, and/or Powershell. 
  • Proficiency in Regular Expressions. 
  • Working knowledge of Linux.
  • Working knowledge of general networking topics, such as Load balancers, FW, DNS, routing, AWS VPC/TGW etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with conflicts with your peers and users.
