PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES 

The Legal Compliance & Integrity Office (LCIO) is a part of the Global Finance & Administration Board area, and reports to both SAP SE’s Global CFO and the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board.  Our mission is to advance SAP’s business goals by promoting a culture of integrity, and by mitigating a defined set of legal risks.  The LCIO is responsible for various SAP compliance initiatives, including oversight and support of the SAP Code of Business Conduct, employee compliance training and communications, and the global governance document framework.  We also monitor and enforce compliance.  Our primary focus includes compliance with the FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), UK Bribery Act, and other global anti-corruption and bribery laws and competition law compliance (in tandem with field legal). 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

SAP has set up a Shared Service team to centralize key compliance checks for Due Diligence work on our potential and existing sales partners in the Americas’ region.  You will be one member in a team of seven resources and one manager located in Buenos Aires.  Key tasks to be performed by this role include: 

  • Work with SAP current and prospective partners to gather information to validate their legitimacy, commitment to compliance, and substantial value-added in sales cycles
  • Work with SAP employees in sales’ roles and LCIO’s field compliance officers to gather and analyze potential red flags tied to doing business with potential sales’ partners
  • Analyze SAP system and third-party data to identify potential red flags of doing business with specific partners and with specific sales’ transactions
  • Escalate red flags to suitable LCIO Field Officers and business management for mitigation and approval or rejection, as deemed appropriate
  • Validate adequate partner involvement in sales’ transactions with SAP end customers
  • Conduct post-transaction audits of partner enabled SAP sales to validate compliance with key SAP governance terms
  • Monitor compliance trends in the Americas and globally, including compliance initiatives, industry compliance failures and other internal and external Compliance trends to provide insight for leadership knowledge forums, newsletters and employee groups
  • Track and report productivity statistics to LCIO management and supported market units on a periodic basis

The position enjoys wide exposure within the business on a international scale.  It reports to the Compliance Due Diligence Manager for the Americas. 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Full proficiency with English is required (English native speakers will be given preference); secondary language skills in French, Spanish and/or Portuguese will be given preference
  • Compliance related experience will be given preference
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience, specifically in a compliance, risk management and/or audit type role
  • Hands-on with extreme attention to detail and written documentation
  • Ability to do in-depth research and to interpret written guidelines and documents
  • Proactive, dynamic and results driven individual
  • Strong grasp of code of conduct, business ethics policies and current compliance practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior leadership in dynamic environments
  • Experience in the areas of detection and prevention of fraud or corruption preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work with international, virtual teams with sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Project Management experience is highly desirable
  • Very good communication and collaboration skills
  • Full proficiency with Microsoft office tools and an IT business environment
  • Previous experience in the IT industry, including SAP systems or Cloud businesses is preferable
  • Experience designing and/or documenting compliance and/or business processes and analyzing related gaps
