What you'll do

Summary

The Board Area Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development in form of the Business Technology Platform (BTP) as private, hybrid and public cloud. This includes SAP  data management, analytics, application development and extension. We build our Software embedding and integrating with the latest technology trends in Artificial Intelligence and Distributed Ledger Technologies. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market-driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value.

 

The Role
SAP BTP is the platform for the Intelligent Enterprise. Customers can achieve agility, business value, and continual innovation through integration, data to value, and extensibility of all SAP and third-party applications. The BTP Foundation unit drives the CTO function, a harmonized Cross-Product Architecture definition and guidance, BTP product strategy, management, user experience as well as strategic projects to accelerated adoption and market success. The Industry Cloud Architecture team within the BTP Foundation unit specifically looks after the BTP Readiness for new Business Models and supports strategic projects like CATENA-X and GAIA-X.
The major topics are sovereign and decentralized data infrastructure and identities. We want to build an inter-company foundation that enables SAP and its customers to trustfully collaborate and share, to gain deep insights and help to improve products, protect the environment and be more efficient. Technology-wise this shall be based on industry-specific standards and initiatives (e. g. Gaia-X, IDTA), and incorporate technology trends such as AI, Self-Sovereign Identities, Semantic Web, Human Machine Collaboration.
In this context, the position is focused on the following key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Lead development and take over the responsibility of the Decentralized Identity Service (DIS) to support Self-Sovereign Identity
  • Collect requirements, define scope, milestones, and backlog of the DIS in tight collaboration with the team
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Document design and development results in architecture documents such as Architect Concept Documents and Architecture Decision Records
  • Contribute to success of the CATENA-X project

 

What you bring

  • Good degree in computer science, business informatics, software engineering or related area (Bachelor/Master)
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development 
  • At least 2 years of experience as Product Owner in the IT industry in an agile development environment
  • Expertise in at least one programming language & tech stack to write maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code
  • Feeling comfortable with products based or operated on cloud technologies such as Kubernetes/Gardener, Cloud Foundry or Hyperscaler IaaS/PaaS native services
  • Deep understanding of software engineering and systems modeling methodologies
  • Expertise in Security and Cybersecurity is beneficial 
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels within the company and externally
  • Very good English language skills oral and written (German beneficial) as well as interpersonal and cultural skills
  • Adapt with high degree of flexibility to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
