Role Overview


The Intern - Java Developer is primarily responsible for cloud application software development. You will collaborate closely with other developers, product owners and the QA team to fully understand the customer’s requirements and ensure high quality of solutions provided. You will be expected to deliver well designed and well tested code. From the first day you will be assigned to the team and you will be supported on a daily basis. There will be a dedicated person (buddy) to get you to full speed. You will also be able to participate in many trainings and you will have access to several internal and external education platforms. We will actively encourage you to expand your knowledge and share your expertise with the team. This is a technical role and requires strong technical attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

 

Responsibilities

 

The key responsibilities of this role are the following:

 

  • Java and Spring-based cloud software development for Intelligent Selling-Services, SAP Commerce Cloud
  • Developing unit and integration tests
  • Collaboration team members to understand technical and infrastructure requirements
  • Working as a member of a customer-facing Scrum project team
  • Continuous self-development though increased product knowledge

 

Qualifications
 

Ideal candidates for this role will have the following:

 

  • Currently enrolled university student of computer science, software engineering or equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drill down to the code level
  • Willingness to expend knowledge and improve own skillset
  • Practical knowledge about software development using modern system
  • Programming languages (e.g. Java)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is an advantage
  • Knowledge of modern web frameworks (e.g. Angular) is an advantage
  • Experience/understanding of agile concepts (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, pair programming) and lean principles
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English (both verbal and written)
