The Lead Enterprise Architect - Finance RISE - will own the strategy and overall voice for DiscoverRISE deliverables as well as support enablement and act as a senior advisor to our new Value Architecture & Strategy teams as well as our Industry & Innovation solutioning teams.  This role will own and align both the Enterprise Architecture approach with our license counterparts and build that view into our discoveries with alignment across our cloud CoE’s and also be the first connection for Finance Messaging in detail.   The key here is developing highly repeatable and fast delivery of discovery workshops, and building a business case into the plan from the start.  With business value as the core tenet to our customers we need to be able to clearly articulate the value of S/4HANA and accelerators that exist behind it. This leader will work collaboratively across all MU’s and make sure that the right folks appear at the right time for key deals, but with the mindset of acceleration and how we get our vast library of assets directly  out to our newer midmarket customers, so we can develop a much faster selling and solutioning process.  One of the key goals on transparency is developing a sharing culture, and this role will be instrumental in carrying our presales motions through to our delivery teams and articulating the importance of carrying consistent messaging from sales into delivery.  That said, this role will partner as an advisor for our consulting org, our MU delivery resources, PE resources, and anyone else that might be in an account.   As we develop the RISE motion, this person will also interface with partners.


Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

Business Development

  • Tie-in and staff presales services to specific sales plays nationally prioritized by size as well as MU to ensure all MU’s have adequate coverage and leadership.
  • Develop plan on how to build business value into key assets, such as customer success
  • Develop C-level relationships across all buying centers within key accounts
  • Be a strategic advisor for key deals/interface with customer executives
  • Develop new business opportunity accelerators within dormant and net-new customers
  • Act as an Executive Advisor/Sponsor on largest, most strategic industry pursuits.
  • Identify and develop strategic relationships with ‘niche’ industry focused services partners
  • Develop Services Sales brand identity throughout the industry leveraging social channels
  • Develop and publish thought leadership in the relevant domain that advances SAP Services brand to the market
  • Seek and align with ecosystem partners that synergistically strengthen SAP’s Industry value proposition


Team Development

  • Develop skillsets on team to focus on more of an enterprise architect level, wrapping around innovation
  • Work on a continuous skillset update for the teams
  • Act as a conduit to other value teams both internally and external to SAP
  • Build brand and regularly contribute / publish via social media channels.
  • Develop and enhance sales & solutioning accelerators
  • Define the enablement tools and tactics to implement these approaches across North America
  • Work closely with product and portfolio management to influence the creation of high value service offerings
  • Drive enablement activities for Services sales and consulting around new discovery motions
  • Create sales assets as needed


Experience & Other Requirements

  • Experience in Management Consulting Leadership in large sales plays
  • Experience in Industry solutions and how they combine
  • Experience in having a midmarket conversation and removing complexity from sales cycles
  • Demonstrated uncompromised understanding of solution selling and product positioning
  • Strong understanding of industry terminology and operations, with prior work experience within the industry preferred
  • Proven abilities on managing highly complex programs and applying risk-mitigation strategies to internal and external customer
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate a vision across lines of business
  • Ability to navigate large, matrixed organizations and run matrixed teams
  • Change agent – ability to execute positive change strategies, high degree of critical problem-solving skill, and drive organizational agility
  • Ability to build and continue executive level relationships
  • Establish trust across internal / external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable pattern of outstanding operational work with a solid business background in financial reports and measures
  • Critical thinking
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • High level of flexibility and energy, self-starter



  • Graduate, MBA or advanced degree preferred
