PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The APJ Commercial Finance team supports existing, new and evolving business models with commercial insights, process simplicity & efficiency and analytics to help intelligent management of field expectations.
The APJ Cloud Commercial Finance team is an integral component of the APJ Commercial Finance organization providing quality service to SAP’s multiple cloud lines of business. Principal responsibilities of this role will be:
Governance, Commercial Support, Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the process i.e. Cloud business leaders and customer facing cloud teams, SDC, business operations, O2I, legal & contract administration, Rev Rec, controlling, GCCO amongst others, be responsive, eliminate duplication, foster simplicity and clarity of roles.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, code of conduct, DoA, provide transparency
- Oversee the successful transition of the cloud deal support model from regional to SDC and Market unit teams through strong enablement and stakeholder engagement on all sides.
- Ensure the business is steered in the right direction: looking at ways to ensure booking is converted to revenue, there is a strong process to manage and mitigate concessions and by evolving the support model that is required for post-sale support for CEE’s and CRE’s.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
• At all times evaluate the efficacy of the Cloud commercial support organization
• Assess customer/stakeholders expectations.
• Review processes, procedures critically, map and document where absent.
• Build a responsive and responsible team to resource the process.
• Regularly interact, collaborate with stakeholders GCO, SDC, GRC, CBCs/CBPs, O2I , Legal & Contract Administration, , Revenue Recognition, Controlling, Global Commercial teams
• Manage by fact, leverage analytics, dashboard to monitor relevance, service levels.
• Engage with counterparts in other regions share replicate best practices.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• University Degree or similar proficient experience.
• At least 7-8 years of experience in a challenging commercial environment with a proven performance track record
• Organizational maturity to build an organization, provide scale, relevance to productively impact.
• Good knowledge of SAP’s business, On premise, Cloud, M-GTM, Services.
• Excellent knowledge of SAPs sales and Go-to-market approach
• Several years (5 or more) of experience in at least two or three deal support topics such as:
• Pricing and deal structuring
• Revenue recognition
• Legal
• Risk management
• Customer facing activities
• Excellent understanding of most commercial finance topics
• Knowledge in all of the following functional topics and good understanding in the residual topics:
• Revenue Recognition
• Pricing
• Contracting
• Quote Support
• Legal
• Good negotiation skills
• Good understanding of legal conditions (from Legal Templates)
• Strong commercial acumen
• Excellent network in the different disciplines and departments and to other organizational units
• Very strong team player
• Very good service, customer, and solution orientation
• Excellent knowledge about the various business scenarios and the respective process flows and contact points
• Excellent in preparing decisions and take decisions in given boundaries
• Excellent consulting skills for solving the customer requests to provide the best solution for customer and SAP’s interests
• Leading diverse talent pool, both local and remote, across APJ.
• Proactively leverage experts where discovered issues are beyond own knowledge or DoA
• Ability to work with unstructured information.
• Managing multiple assignments at any one time, meeting tight timelines, manage unscheduled meetings;
• Working experience with Shared Service Centre (desirable)
• Proficiency on SAP applications, Excel, Powerpoint and other office automation products.
• Fluent written and spoken English skills
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience grounded on deal support, controlling, risk management roles performed in the past is preferred.
- Experience in performing consultative and problem solving roles working with customer facing teams.
- Working with diverse team composition both directly and remotely.
