PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Come be a part of a Scrum team and contribute to creating the best product for the SAP product portfolio. We are seeking individuals who are self-motivated and passionate about User Assistance and who are eager to be part of a self-organizing, young and dynamic team. You will be part of one our Scrum teams that is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, quality assurance and ramp-up support for our customers.

We’re looking for a recent, or soon to be university graduate ready for intense personal and professional growth. Accompanied by an experienced group of colleagues and managers, you will embark on a professional career as part of an interdisciplinary team. You’ll gain substantial knowledge about SAP’s products and processes, and help drive the future of the Cloud. You’re passionate about learning, are tech-savvy, and aren’t afraid to take on new methodologies and think outside the box. A certain amount of independence is expected, but we’ll also facilitate and support you with classroom training, on-the-job learning, and mentoring.

What we expect from you

We’re looking for a self-motivated and passionate person to join our Utilities teams as a user assistance developer intern. You will support our Cloud strategy by helping to create state-of-the art user assistance and innovative end user support for our apps. In your role as a user assistance developer intern, you will:

  • Create multi-media user assistance content in English. This includes, for example, product documentation, infographics and videos for applications developed in the Montreal Utilities teams.
  • Interact confidently in cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams with developers, development architects, UI designers, product owners, translators and other user assistance developers.
  • Review, research and define technical and business terminology and user interface texts.
  • Follow people-centric approach of writing to deliver customer-focused, task-oriented help documentation.
  • Ensure consistency of published materials by adhering to SAP's standards and guidelines.
  • Become a subject matter expert through testing software applications and conducting interviews with developers and product owners.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree in technical writing, IT, business studies or a related subject, or a language-based university degree
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English
  • Outstanding communication, writing, and grammar skills
  • German language skills would be considered an asset
  • Self-organized working style 
  • Ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and precise manner
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, deliver on time, and ensure high quality
  • Willingness to acquire extensive product knowledge and learn new skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of documentation standards (e.g. DITA)
  • Knowledge of documentation tools
  • Experience in producing how-to and/or product feature videos or sophisticated graphics
  • Product knowledge of the Utilities industry

WORK EXPERIENCE

This is an entry-level position for upcoming or recent graduates with 0-2 years of work experience. Even if you only have experience as a working student or intern, we would still love to hear from you!
