A&AS PURPOSE AND MANDATE

Advisory & Architecture (A&AS) is the management consulting arm of SAP.  We assist SAP’s most important clients in defining their digital roadmap to create new business models, drive innovation, improve business processes and extract greater value from their software investments.  A&AS works with clients at the strategic and operational levels to deliver measurable and specific business outcomes.  Our mandate is to drive business value by advising SAP clients how best to design, leverage, implement and sustain SAP solutions in the industries in which they operate.

 

This market-oriented and execution-focused Regional Leader will proactively engage with DBS and other board areas as well as Client business & IT executives. Based on his/her deep knowledge of the Services Portfolio, he/she will help create unique value for clients and increase SAP services presence in key regional accounts.

 

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  1. Manage a team of A&AS Consultants including business operations, HR requirements, team staffing + utilization, training and morale building
  2. Integrate architect staff across multiple disciplines to form a cohesive team that is seen in the Market Unit as the “go to” source for advice in top deals
  3. Emphasis and focus on A&AS consulting business development and project oversight. Work with SAP account teams to analyze target accounts, play a key role in account planning and define specific growth strategies
  4. Play a key role in the SAP MOVE and Adoption Starter programs
  5. Oversee the design and implementation of large scale and complex transformation programs (using the Intelligent Enterprise framework)
  6. Collaborate closely with MaxAttention and PE leaders to embed A&AS staff into major deals
  7. Collaborate with the SAP account teams (AE’s, GAD’s, SSP’s, etc.) to identify and deliver advisory led services – drive and manage stakeholder engagement, education and communication
  8. High degree of competitive awareness to provide the right strategic solution at the appropriate time
  9. Stay knowledgeable and current on SAP products and solutions (S4 Finance / IE / C4 HANA, etc.), including competitive knowledge and market developments
  10. Drive business development and pre-sales activities together with IVE, DTO, etc.
  11. Coordinate and drive greater awareness of A&AS services to clients and market unit SAP stakeholders (what do we do and how we help clients)
  12. Coach and mentor the A&AS consultants in their career trajectory
     
     
    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  1. Management Consultant, Senior Manager or Program Leader equivalent from top management consultancy or Fortune 1000 companies
  2. Industry centric management consulting experience in business and IT strategy, IT governance, innovation, value management, business architecture, process management, program and change management
  3. Successful management of large-scale programs or projects, preferably in SAP across multiple locations and cultures
  4. Strong business acumen, analytical skills and executive presence
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, solid presentation skills / fluency in English
  6. Flexibility and agility in dynamic environments with ability to work with complex solutions
  7. Ability to operate across organizational boundaries and exert influence across management levels both internally and externally
  8. Strong negotiating skills to reach agreement on key transformation concepts
  9. Adaptable leadership style with core competencies of executive communication, coaching and career development
  10. Team player, proactive networking attributes, results and execution focused
  11. Self-motivated and directed
  12. Ability to navigate through complex environments and ambiguous situations
     
    Preferred: Bachelor’s (BA or BS) degree required.  Prefer Master’s or MBA Degree in Business or IT
     
    WORK EXPERIENCE
  1. 15 to 20 years management work experience with a minimum of ~10 years in IT strategy or management consulting
  2. Track record of managing a P&L 
  3. Track record of achieving business, sales and organizational targets in a management consulting environment
  4. Track record of mentoring and coaching staff
  5. Track record of thought leadership and market facing activities
  6. Expert level in selling and delivering a broad range of professional services including EA/IT Strategy, Value Management, Business Process Management, Program-/Change Management and Value Partnerships
     
    LOCATION Preference: Embedded into the India region in a major office location, frequent inter-regional travel is a key requirement.
