SAP Industry Business Architect (Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) execute the industry aligned customer engagements across the target market for both Software and Cloud environments cross- industry and customer segment.  They establish the key reasons for customers and prospects to leverage SAP solutions to achieve strategic business objectives.  They syndicate best practice programs, tools, methods and processes within the region to accelerate profitable performance and market penetration. The role is largely customer facing with the goal to support the India market unit in critical and transformational deals and a key position within the broader Industries & Customer Advisory India Team. The candidate is expected to bring good presales, sales and domain knowledge of SAP solutions.


  • Contribute substantively in demand generation activities as a part of Professional Services industry team on a 1:1 and 1:N basis through various activities and programs
  • Strong practitioner of discovery & deal qualification processes
  • Lead VAT teams to create a business architecture to meet customer requirements with SAP Intelligent Enterprise
  • Challenger Sales, Digital Transformation/Innovation
  • Bring together SAP win themes and key messaging during complex sales cycle
  • Seasoned and trust worthy advisor to customer executives, based on business impact of SAP Intelligent Enterprise
  • Establish & own long term trusted customer & partner relationships
  • Articulate a compelling SAP Unique Selling Proposition
  • Ensure consistent & engaging CX throughout the sales cycle


 Relevant degree, as well as an adequate career in one or more of the following industries/process areas in the ENR industry cluster:

    • Oil and Gas
    • Renewables, and new energy
    • Utilities
    • Asset Management
  • Profound knowledge in one or more of the SAP Solutions in the industries/process areas listed above.
  • Demonstrable advisory and implementation skills in the above areas with the following prior experience (one or more):
    • Support in shaping and structuring deals in the role of a solution architect.
    • End to End implementation lifecycle experience.
    • Customer advisory as an industry business process expert.
  • Very strong analytical, and conceptual skills.
  • Pro-active driver, team-player, results-oriented, with a can-do attitude.
  • Works, collaborates and influences key stakeholders across organizational layers.

 Work Experience

  • 10+ overall years of Industry Domain / Industry Solution / Software Implementation / Product Pre- Sales in SAP ecosystem
  • 2+ years of Industry domain experience
  • 5-7 successful Engagements from Business Development to closure.
  • Experience in program planning and / or evaluating new business development opportunities in industry 

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient understanding of SAP, its products and solutions, partners, markets and competition.
  • Strong customer focus, presentation skills and business acumen
  • Understanding of cloud, Hosted Services, and SaaS/ PaaS models, cloud -based commerce / business networks. 
  • Strong knowledge of best business practices and business planning. 
  • Fluency in English, any other language an asset. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science required from an accredited university. MBA or advanced degree in related discipline preferred
