PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Join the Search Product Development team as part of our customer experience group of the SAP Hybris commerce division.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a Full Stack (Senior) Java developer, you
• Develop web services and applications using mainly Java EE, Spring framework, Git, Maven and JavaScript for the user interface
• Work as part of a truly cross-functional, agile development team embracing scrum approach
• Design and implement elegant, scalable code to deliver new features for the SAP Hybris Commerce Platform
• Actively drive non-functional requirements such as performance, security, continuous integration, migration and compatibility
• Show initiative and drive topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency
• Driving architecture and technology decisions for the team
• Design and write automated unit, integration and acceptance tests
• Participate in design workshops and bug hunting sessions
• Maintain existing code
• Collaborate with members of the wider product development team across multiple international locations
• Be at the very forefront of enterprise ecommerce platform development


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills

• Degree in a computer related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Mastering Java programming and deep understanding of Java EE and Spring framework
• Knowledge of Angular JS, or at least experience with a JS based framework
• Strong understanding of design patterns
• Believer in pair programming, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration (CI)
• Experience of agile & scrum development principles and practices
• Knowledge of peripheral tools: issue tracking (Jira), Wiki (Confluence), source code management (Git), build (Maven) & testing frameworks
• Ability to adapt fast to changing technologies and frameworks
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a self-organizing team
• Self-motivated to bring innovation and support the team challenges
• Passion for delivering high-quality working code frequently
• Desire to continue learning and improving
• Being flexible and open to regular changes
• Fluent English language skills (both verbal and written)

 

Preferred skills
• Experience with Apache Solr
• Knowledge of the enterprise e-commerce industry
• Experience with cloud solutions
