The Director, North America Strategy will drive market assessment, analysis, project management, stakeholder engagement, and recommendations for North America Leadership Team. These initiatives could consist of a wide range of topics including go to market, organizational design, demand generation, investment and partner strategy. Examples of the projects candidates can expect to lead include developing a strategy to evolve how we win new customers to determining areas of investment based on a right to win assessment.

 

Key responsibilities include:   

  • Lead engagements with Senior Executives in the North America leadership team on strategic topics  
  • Conduct detailed analyses that lead to compelling recommendations   
  • Drive strategic projects by providing structured decision making backed by strong hypotheses   
  • Design pilots to test potential investment or business model evolutions
  • Synthesize information and analyses into creative business insights and recommendations   
  • Incorporate multiple, differing perspectives into high quality deliverables   
  • Persuasively deliver recommendations to Senior Executives

 

Experience & Skill Requirements The candidate should demonstrate the following abilities:   

  • Proven, distinctive problem solving and analytical skills   
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively (including leading and influencing virtual teams)  
  • Superior Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills   
  • Outstanding senior executive communication and presentation skills  
  • Capacity for multi-threading

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of professional experience in a top-tier management consulting firm or a similar environment and 5 years of strategy, corporate development, product development, or operating experience in the software industry or other IT-related areas. An MBA from a top institution, although not required, will be strongly preferred. Ad minima, the candidate will demonstrate a passion for the technology industry and a solid understanding of the key trends in the markets SAP operates in.   This role will report into the North America Chief Operating Officer.
