About the team

 

 

SAP’s Global Industry and Value Advisory (IVA), a key component of SAP’s Industries & Customer Advisory (ICA) group, is focused on supporting SAP customers and the 600 SAP Industry and Value Advisors across our regions as they conduct collaborative value-based customer engagements.

The IVA team has been a competitive differentiator for SAP for almost two decades and continues to play a leading role in setting industry-leading value-selling practices in the technology industry. The Global IVA team is responsible for developing thought leadership content, value-based tools, customer engagement methodology, and enablement for the field, and provides support for strategic customer engagements to help articulate the business value customers can achieve with SAP innovations.
We strive to achieve customer success and advance SAP’s strategic agenda across all lines of business spanning 25 industries.


What you’ll do:

This position will report to SAP’s Global Head of Industry and Value Advisory Methodology & Innovation and is focused on three key areas

 

 

Methodology:

  • Own the Vision to Value methodology and ensure its execution in customer engagements w/ focus on results achieved and customer outputs driven
  • Standardize, improve, and scale the Industry Advisor and Value Advisor roles and how they support several engagement models based on customer type, industry, and Line of Business
  • Revamp and detail our value discovery approach and extend our customer engagements to cover Value Realization at scale
  • Solicit field feedback on requirements and opportunities to improve how we engage with SAP customers in value-focused engagements. Translate requirements into engagement methodology, tools, and projects that help scale value advisory.
  • This mandate requires tight collaboration with SAP product development leadership teams, Customer Success leadership, and strategic corporate functions including corporate strategy and solution management. 
  • Champion the development of original thought leadership and concrete value propositions that help drive the adoption of SAP’s strategic initiatives and new solutions based on the business value they will bring to SAP customers.

 

Strategy:

  • Extend value selling beyond the IVA team and collaborate with functions like Product Development, Solution Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, Customer Success & Consulting to embed value into the way SAP goes to market. 
  • Design and scale and IVA model that supports volume with velocity
  • Work with the Global IVA functions to ensure the successful rollout of new IVA programs at a Regional / MU level.
  • Support the development of IVA hiring standards, onboarding programs, and IVA talent development, recognition, and retention practices.
  • Act as a conduit between the Global IVA team and select Regions to ensure best practice sharing and adoption.

 

Innovation:

  • Identify key industry trends and changing industry dynamics to evolve SAP IVA consultative selling practices, ensure ongoing relevance, and continued IVA leadership position in the industry.
  • Identify new services IVA can offer to support the customer journey with value and business transformation at the center. Pilot and scale those services efficiently and rollout based on pilot results.

Educational requirements

 

  • MBA degree or equivalent qualification, and experience with management consulting firms are highly desirable.
  • Track record of top performance and continuously executing on best-in-class consulting or analytical engagements in investment banking, consulting, or similar.
  • Hypothesis and data-driven mindset to make analytical decisions for the customer and the IVA field.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional, global teams for successful project execution with the ability to motivate and influence individuals beyond the direct field of control.
  • Ability to take complex topics and synthesize them into clear, concise executive summaries. Support, develop and deliver presentations to senior customer and SAP leadership teams
  • Ability to work in virtual set-ups with 10-20% travel requirements when traveling is safe.
  • Excellent written oral, and presentation skills in English is mandatory
