The SAP Developer and Community Relations team is continuing to build out the next chapter for One SAP Community making our community the strongest, most vibrant, and visible place to be in the enterprise space. To drive and setting us up for this journey we need a top strategist to maneuver this innovative community space helping to put the right priorities and directions forward for the entire SAP business. The role requires to a strong analytical as well business thinking to assess the current situation, internally and externally and to identify together with the community experts the right charter for success.


Areas of Responsibility include:

Drives and support the business direction by shaping up the community long-term and develops market and feedback measures to help us reach our objectives. The job includes assessing the current strategy, strength and weaknesses and working out refinements leveraging internal and external community expertise. As a central role you work across the team and other SAP business stakeholders to ensure needs and directions are reflected and driven across SAP.


  • Strategy development – leads the development of the central community business strategy:
    • Holds the pen for the development of the long-term (5 year) community and developer strategy
    • Supports and drives research and analysis, based on internal data and performance metrics as well leveraging external expertise
    • Assesses market trends and competitors, and identifies threads and opportunities
    • Identify and implement innovative approaches to drive the community forward and increase the business value
    • Develops findings, projections, and proposals to drive directions for the organization
    • Monitors success metrics and reporting to ensure strategic implementations
    • Supports cross collaboration and decision-making with key leaders and executives



  • Business degree, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting or strategic planning (software/technology preferred)
  • Excellent and innovative understanding of building strategies with focus on business outcomes
  • Expert knowledge of communities/ecosystems: customers, partners, prospects (personas/corporations)
  • Outstanding research, analysis and quantitative modelling skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, virtual and distributed team with board level mandates
  • Strong stakeholder management, organizational skills and competences to successfully work in cross-functional and international teams, as well as in a complex and fast moving environments
