Summary:

The Premium Hub - CoE Custom Code Management team focuses on the top Max-Attention customers providing them conceptual and architectural guidance on how to manage ABAP custom developments, typically during IT Transformations (such as S/4HANA conversion or upgrade):

As an Expert Support Engineer, your responsibility includes the following:
- Deliver and Lead Custom Code Management workshops for premium engagement customers to effectively manage their existing custom code footprint
- Help customers to identify opportunities to avoid new custom code and keep the core clean by making utilization of in-app and side-by-side extensions
- Deliver Custom Code Quality Improvement workshops to help identify quality issues in the custom code leading to performance issues and provide recommendations to optimize the code
- Develop proof of concept solutions on BTP to reduce custom code footprint to achieve clean core
- Perform Custom Code Impact Analysis to identify developments impacted due to S/4HANA simplification changes


As part of a global team, you will be working closely with SAP Development and the global SAP Support Centres to support strategic customer initiatives. Business travel will be an essential part of this role.

 

Experience:

• Experience with ABAP programming, Restful ABAP programming, CDS views, AMDP procedures
• Experience over the topics of Business Technology Platform including extensibility like In-App and Side-by-Side Extensions
Experience with DevOps concepts including gCTS and gitHub integration 
• Experience working with tools like ATC, SQLM, SWLT, SCOV, Custom Code Migration App on BTP & Solution Manager CCLM
• Knowledge over the topics like Modifications, Enhancements, ABAP Workflows, SPAU, SPDD
• Knowledge over defining the quality governance standards for customers based on S/4HANA development best practices
• Knowledge and experience on S/4HANA Conversions/Upgrades is an advantage
• Strong analytical, presentation, communication skills
