The Global Center of Expertise (CoE), a subdivision of Customer Success and has the goal and mission to ensure optimal performance, availability, and smooth operation of SAP software as well as to optimize technical and business processes by delivering standard services to SAP customers.

As a technical expert in the CoE, you will analyze SAP solutions for our North American customers and present the results of your findings and recommendations to IT managers, project leads and executives.

For this role we are looking for passionate team members with excellent technical and communication skill. This role provides you opportunities to work with a variety of SAP products and technologies in all industry segments, cloud and on-premise.


Tasks and expectations:


  • Act as a senior advisor to the customer’s CIO / IT-department with strong technology- / operations focus, covering the entire IT-department of a customer end-to-end.
  • Understand the as-is situation and goals of a customer holistically. Translate it into an adequate technology roadmap design (processes, applications, systems) as well as the appropriate operating concept based on SAP’s offerings.
  • Operationalize the customers’ IT-strategies, identify relevant components, approaches, input required, etc. to derive the best possible technology / operations approach for the customer combining public and private cloud as well as OnPremise scenarios. Challenge existing approaches/concepts, to generate a state-of-the-art and future-ready outcome.
  • Clarify existing expectations with customer’s technology / operations experts and stakeholders; create an approach which integrates diverse points of views and which drives success from a technology / operation perspective. Collaborates with customer / SAP teams for the best possible implementation.
  • Drive knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers. Document successful approaches, tools etc. and makes them available to colleagues at SAP.
  • Collaborate and co-innovate with the respective SAP development teams.
  • To meet the challenging requirements, you should be a quick learner with strong analytical skills. You should also be creative, open minded and possess the ability to communicate and convince others based on technical facts and details.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, or Engineering (in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics & Electrical, or other engineering fields)
  • Minimum Job Experience: 10-12 Years
  • Thereof in a relevant position at SAP: 5-8 Years
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers and management, both internal and external.
  • Other languages are an asset
  • Strong computer science fundamental skills such as computer architecture, network, storage, virtualization, container concept, cloud computing, etc.
  • Experience in ABAP or other programming languages (e.g. Java, C++).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Willing to travel to SAP customers in North America. Occasional weekend work is required.


Minimum 8 years of experience in Database Architectures and Administration (e.g. SAP HANA) and SAP NetWeaver Architecture, Setup and Configuration

  • Working knowledge in database administration, maintenance, and operations
  • Experience in definition of High Availability concepts for all technical stacks in an SAP solution
  • Experience in end-to-end SAP Performance Monitoring and Tuning
  • Experience in definition and execution of load and concurrency tests
  • Good understanding of the Business Technology Platform (BTP) scenarios
