Job Title: Global Events Insights Specialist

Location: USA Virtual

 

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Global Events Insights specialist works as part of the Marketing and Solution Operations Team, providing key support primarily to the SAP Global Events Team by way of standardized reporting, consultation on operations processes and best practices, definition of KPI’s and targets, and delivery of data-driven insights. This role will define standards and procedures for reporting on the success of premier events (physical, virtual, and hybrid), as well as help define standards for measuring events as a key Marketing Channel.   The ideal candidate should have the ability to transform data into insights that drive better customer experience, improve SAP decision-making, and inform future event strategies.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Global Events Insights Specialist will partner closely with the Global Events Team to understand business decisions affecting the front-end user experience and translate these business decisions into reporting requirements to the ID&A team.  You will be responsible for ensuring that the most frequent business questions can be answered in a consistent and repeatable way through both self-service and executive-summary reporting.   

  • Build event measurement framework, standardize reporting and insights
  • Support Global Events Team to optimize the success of their events by enabling reporting for a variety of possible event interactions (event interactions include, but are not limited to: registration, attendance, replays, social media engagement/views, meetings, on-site badge scanning, view-time, drop-off rates, dwell-time, participation in special interest activities)
  • Analyze relevant interaction data to understand successes and identify areas for improvement in accordance with strategic goals and objectives of each event
  • Facilitate the translation of event goals and objectives into KPI’s and targets to measure success for premier events (ie: SAPPHIRE, TechEd, etc.)
  • Drive critical communication and enablement around the event reporting landscape to key stakeholders including the Marketing Leadership Team, Global Events Team, Regional PM&I Expert Services Team, and Field Marketing Team.
  • Partner with Global Demand Center to build event follow up strategies to ensure business impact in terms of customer engagement and pipeline.
  • Responsible for aligning event reporting with the Global Marketing & Solutions KPI Framework and facilitating the KPI cascade to the Global Events Team on an annual basis

 

Experience (Role Requirements):

  • Strong project management skills, comfortable with data, analysis, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong cross-group collaboration, communication, and ability to get things done.
  • Experience working on large scale events (10k+ attendee).
  • Experience with events platforms for physical and digital event experiences (e.g. RainFocus, WEG, ON24, etc)
  • Advanced skills working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with other analytical tools (SQL, VBA, data visualization software) is a plus
  • Experience educating and training stakeholders on using and interpreting self-service reporting
  • Experience in developing insights, telling stories with data through dashboards/visualizations.
  • Translate data into actionable insights for event operations as well as for sales and marketing operations
