Role Description:

As a HR Global Mobility Compliance Specialist, you will support and drive the translation of legal requirements into successful HCM compliance implementations, wherein a technical IT background is essential.

You will be the point of contact for HR, Finance and Field Services and other business areas when expertise on international business travel compliance is required and help to translate legal requirements into the right business decision.

Reports to:  Manager HR Global Mobility Americas

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Supports the design, user acceptance testing and roll-out of HCM compliance apps for internationally mobile employees.
  • Acts as IT expert for internal technical development and for the Global Mobility team.
  • Supports in building automated controls to ensure overall compliance.
  • Builds and maintain a broad knowledge of Global Mobility topics, especially with regards to country specifics: immigration, social security, tax and permanent establishment risks.
  • Supports consulting projects with country expertise and drives assignment cases within SAP’s Global Mobility policies and agreed upon service level agreements as a case manager.
  • Designs and implements processes for cross border staffing in close alignment with the finance and consulting organization.
  • Acts as a Country Expert for assigned countries and shares knowledge and expertise, including proactive input for the internal knowledge database.
  • Contact person for line managers, program/project managers, employees, HR Business Partners, Process Specialist to consult on Global Mobility related questions.
  • Acts as an interface between local HR, Consulting, Finance and the Shared Services Organization.
  • Stays informed and attends trainings/exchanges regarding Mobility topics (immigration, social security, tax).
  • Escalates non-standard topics to the right people, includes all stakeholders in the consultation with the customer and finds solutions.
  • Provides advice and guidance as required by customers, colleagues and management to help aid business decisions.
  • Works closely with the Mobility Consultants in other regions as well as the Mobility Specialists who are responsible for the transactional parts of processes.
  • In specific instances, may serve as a liaison with the SAP IT team for all Global Mobility related projects and tool developments.

Essential Competencies

  • Strong IT knowledge (technical and functional) in International HCM implementations.
  • Project Management experience in leading technology driven initiatives 
  • Working knowledge of SAP HCM landscape, SAP Fiori, UI5, SAP Lumira, Excel VBA scripting with a basic knowledge of coding constructs and programming knowledge.
  • Experience in handling data visualization tools and understanding data visualization concepts.
  • Well-developed analytical and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of GM compliance requirements, domestic and or international taxation rules and an interest to broaden knowledge.
  • Good understanding of common Mobility service portfolio within multinational companies and related process execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Education

  • University degree with focus on IT, Computer Science, HR, Finance, Legal or related fields

Practical Experience:

Essential

  • 1-3 years of work experience in IT, GM, Finances or HR GM.
  • Consulting and customer service experience.
  • Experience working in international virtual teams, intercultural sensitivity.

Desirable

  • International experience (living or working abroad)
  • Experience working within a Shared Service Center
  • Understanding of Global Mobility processes and policies, Visa/work permits, social security, and tax required.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements when moving across borders.
  • SAP Certifications are a plus.
  • Proven track record in leading implementation of GM Compliance and/or Tax Compliance initiatives.
  • Ability to understand algorithms.

System knowledge:

Essential

  • Advanced Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, VBA, Word, Outlook)           

Desirable

  • General knowledge of SAP systems or other Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

Language Skills:

Essential

  • Advanced written and spoken English    

Desirable

  • Other international language skills (German, Spanish, French, etc.)
