Senior Procurement Specialist, Digital Marketing

The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is in the midst of ongoing transformation that will change the dynamic of how GPO engages with its stakeholders. This transformation is necessary to keep up with the fast-changing environment, develop into a digital organization, meet the Board’s ambitious growth plans, and support SAP’s strategy.


The Marketing Category Team is part of the Global Procurement Organization and provides excellent business partnering to our internal and external stakeholders. The category is responsible for the definition and execution of global sourcing strategies in close collaboration with business owners, legal, controlling, as well as for sourcing and supplier management across the globe. The GPO Marketing Category is taking care about Advertising, Media, Branding, Direct & Digital Marketing, Creative Services, Events, Market Research, Memberships, Merchandise, Public Relations and Sponsorships.


In this regard, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Procurement Specialist to support our digital Marketing and Events landscape.




  • Act as consultant and trusted business value enabler for key stakeholders
  • Understand SAP’s current and future requirements (including SAP’s Digital Technology Council)
  • Research and recommend new digital marketing technology products, services, vendors
  • Supplier management including technical reviews of products and supplier performance
  • Perform data privacy, compliance and security reviews of marketing tools
  • Conduct all RFPs in the area of digital marketing incl. digital events
  • Lead all contracting and compliance activities, including Licensing
  • Perform market analyses / benchmarking and explore market capabilities to gain market intelligence




  • University degree, preferrably in Business Administration or a related field
  • Dedicated experience with digital Marketing, including a solid understanding of the end-to-end operational processes on Marketing-side.
  • Strong end to end Marketing experience especially in digital services
  • Understanding of end-to-end procurement and sourcing strategies
  • Open-minded and willing to drive change
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems (e.g. SAP Ariba and/or SAP Fieldglass), MS office applications and purchasing processes
  • Ability to work in international teams and in a virtual environment
  • Solid stakeholder management
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills, strategic thinking




  • 5+ years of experience in progressive procurement and category mangement experience within a multinational business
  • 2+ years of experience in Digital Marketing procurement
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and try to crystalize business requirements, as well as translate them into actionable procurement activity
  • Ability to establish clear priorities and effectively manage multiple demand and time resources
  • Experience working in a fast-pased, complex environment, ideally from a digital service background
