ROLE DESCRIPTION:

  • Lead strategic solution sessions with customers, facilitate customer visioning workshops, and lead delivery of value focused engagements. 
  • Provide industry thought leadership, strategic solution advice, and expert consultation to support customer co-innovation, enterprise transformation, and business process performance improvement programs. 
  • In focused industry segments, responsible for demand generation, industry pipeline build strategies and development of scale initiatives resulting in increased industry pipeline, revenue and in elevating SAP’s leadership position in an industry segment supporting a specific region / Market Unit.
  • Partner with ecosystem players to identify revenue opportunities, create solution strategies leveraging platform tools, and execute industry sales, solution plays. 
  • Lead customer engagements to assess strategic objectives, innovation scenarios, key improvement opportunities and other sources of incremental economic value. 

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

Contribute to practice development through thought leadership content, business benchmarking, best practice assessments, and customer success studies.  Represent SAP externally and internally on a local level on industry sector, innovation and solution management related topics. 

 

Area 1 – Market Analysis and Solution Strategy:
-Analyze the industry’s potential and help craft a go-to-market approach for the industry solution defining the big sales plays for the industry
-Combine SAP go-to-market strategies with industry perspective to develop and execute programs designed to build high-quality pipeline for solution
-Work closely with industry and regional marketing management to support success stories and direct customer reference connections

 

Area 2 – Thought Leadership:
-Development of SAP's brand through thought leadership, content creation, appearances in industry events, articles and social & traditional media interviews, etc.
-Create digital collateral and share internally and externally with other thought leadership pieces to illustrate important industry / cross-industry topics
-Develop content for conveying the SAP strategy and industry solutions (including new innovations) while working closely with other global industry teams 

 

Area 3 – Customer Engagement:
-Lead customer executive conversations based on regulations, industry standards relevant to customer business pain points
-Help shape the engagement by facilitating customer consortiums, roundtable discussions and execution deliverables like RFP Responses, Business Cases, Product Demos etc.
-Differentiate SAP to increase win-rates and grow deal size by bundling offerings from SAP product portfolio relevant to industry challenges

 

Area 4 – Partner Management:

-Devise comprehensive strategies to engage partners in areas such as business development, packaged solution development and industry solution cross-selling.

-Identification, development, and execution of targeted sales opportunities; act as key expert to oversee, influence and track the execution of partner priorities aligned with SAP strategy

-Recommend scope and project set-up to ensure on time, on quality delivery of industry solutions via SAP partner ecosystem, SAP store applications

 

Area 5 – Industry Brand Management:
-Represent SAP externally on a regional and national level on industry sector, innovation and value management related topics

- Enable the field sales and support roll–out of new training; conduct in class training for specific industries and contribute to e-learning content.

- Develop and validate high-quality business plans which clearly articulate our IVE strategy, GTM activities and key execution steps. Design customer engagements and select team members. Oversee engagement delivery and provide quality assurance. Act as trusted advisor for customers.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

10+ years of professional experience in Consulting / Industry Solutions experience including 5+ years of SAP product experience, 5+ years of Management consulting experience with leading international firm  or 5 + years of VE experience and/or industry / solution segment

Viewed as industry/ solutions expert across SAP, capable of leveraging an extensive network on behalf of SAP resulting in pipeline and revenue growth.

SAP Industry and/or product line business development.  Experience building and retaining strong customer and partner relationships

Experience leading engagements, with IT / business alignment issues relevant to Life Sciences segments

Experience in design and facilitation of executive workshops aligning diverse perspectives and expectations. Executive presence

Experience in developing deployment project plans and long term IT Roadmaps (Value Architect required)

Experience in diverse technology landscape and process/technology integration issues

Experience with business case creation, analysis, and research.

Advanced knowledge of value selling methodology. & processes, opportunities, value chain and ecosystem analyses experience.  Customer facing experience. Fluency in English, any other language an asset.  Fluency in the language of local markets desirable.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required, MBA or equivalent degree required from accredited university preferred
