Purpose & Objectives:

The Software Partner Solutions Portfolio Director plays a key leadership role across SAP North America with Third Party Solution Partners.  The role’s key responsibility is to drive revenue by designing a go-to-market strategy that at a minimum facilitates marketing, demand generation, sales support, and collaboration between the partner and SAP North America.  Critical skill sets and experience include understanding of enterprise software sales, ability to create lasting and trusting relationships internally and externally, executing in a force multiplier capacity, and establishing a positive and collaborative team environment.

Expectations and Tasks:

  • Develop and own the go-to-market strategy for assigned partners across SAP North America
  • Leverage or develop sales plays to exceed pipeline targets
  • Internal alignment from Solution Management to Sales
  • Field enablement and education
  • Support and follow the SAP sales methodology
  • Orchestrating partner and SAP resources to support marketing, demand generation, deal progression, sales support, etc. 
  • Showcase Wins
  • Foster executive alignment internally and externally to drive accountability and success
  • Create and drive a positive team environment
  • Develop a clear, insightful, approachable, and optimistic experience for both partners and the SAP sales team


  • Relevancy as measured as a % of partner revenue to the overall business revenue
  • Software partner revenue
  • Identification of key demand generation approaches to achieve target pipeline
  • Knowledgeable of the Partner’s solution
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Quarterly scorecard meetings with Partners and North America / Market Unit Leadership
  • Development and fostering of Executive Relationships

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in the software industry in a sales or partner/ISV related role
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic partnerships preferably ISV partnerships
  • Creating and driving seamless execution of sales plays and demand generation plans
  • SAP North America field experience a plus or prior quota carrying sales experience

Education & Qualifications/Skills & Competencies:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent
  • Proven software industry business development skills
  • Strong analytical competencies and the ability to communicate, influence, and persuade at an executive level
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Willingness to bring innovative ideas to the team and champion best practices
  • Well versed in social selling
  • Ability to identify, develop, champion, and execute strategic initiatives with highly complex partners
  • A proven capability to work in a team and collaborate across matrixed reporting lines
  • Expertise and acumen in forging initiatives and go-to-market sales pipeline/opportunity development plans
  • Ability to effectively lead change initiatives, collaborate for mutual success, and thrive in ambiguity.
