Sr. Director, Portfolio Licensing and Monetization Strategy

Come join our team as Sr. Director in the Portfolio Licensing and Monetization Strategy team within Business Model and Pricing (BMP) organization. This team is at the forefront of how SAP packages, licenses, and monetizes its innovative commercial products and services.

The Business Models and Pricing (BMP) team plays a critical role in driving long-term business growth by maximizing value-capture across the entire SAP product portfolio, accelerating customers’ transition to the cloud, and unlocking the transformative power of AI. In close partnership with Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Sales teams, we design Business Models and define Pricing strategies to expand revenue, grow share, accelerate cloud shift, and facilitate cross-sell.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Sr. Director focused on Licensing Strategy, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and implementing strategic business designs, developing, and bringing new monetization constructs to market, and crafting business rules that apply to SAP’s products and services.
- Working across product, marketing, legal, and finance teams, and with other Business Planners to understand product strategy, collaborate on optimizing licensing and monetization approaches, and then work to codify and implement them through business rules.
- Leading or participating in some of the most strategic and competitive issues facing SAP.
- Staying abreast of new technology trends and business models to ensure that SAP licensing, monetization models remain relevant and effective.
- Continuously evaluating, learning, and adjusting pricing strategy through a data-driven approach that draws on competitive analysis, market research, sales insights, and financial performance.
- Influencing and aligning with executives and the broader organization through cross-functional collaboration and personal leadership.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLSET
- 7+ years of experience in pricing/monetization, economics, strategy, consulting, product management, and/or licensing in the commercial cloud applications and services space.
- Proven experience developing creative solutions to complex business problems.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across a large organization and influence a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Ability to breakdown and navigate complex topics through effective presentation and storytelling to secure alignment.
- Growth mindset and creative problem solver who thrives in an ever-changing environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, particularly with executive audiences
- Undergraduate Degree required; MBA preferred.
- Fluent in English

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 159,900 - 367,000 (USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
