The main task of the CoE is to understand the new business models and translate these models into solutions according to implementation plans, deployment plans, and timelines. They maximize the use of SAP Best Practices derived from best run businesses in specific industries and geographies and maintained as Model Companies for accelerated deployment. They establish a must-have factory approach for both the BuildSAP and RunSAP projects, creating a control center on the customer side connected to our Deployment Rooms and Development Factory. They enable and drive fast innovation consumption based on industry model solutions and agile implementation methods leveraging the SAP HANA Cloud platform.


  • Understand the as-is situation and goals of a customer holistically. Translate it into an adequate technology roadmap design (processes, applications, systems) as well as the appropriate operating concept based on SAP’s offerings, with a clear focus on customer success.
  • Operationalize the customers’ IT-strategies, identify relevant components, approaches, input required, etc. to derive the best possible technology / operations approach for the customer combining public and private cloud as well as OnPremise scenarios. Challenge existing approaches/concepts, to generate a state-of-the-art and future-ready outcome.
  • Clarify existing expectations with customer’s technology/ operations experts and stakeholders; create an approach which integrates diverse points of views and which drives success from a technology / operation perspective. Collaborates with customer / SAP teams for the best possible implementation.
  • Drive knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers. Document successful approaches, tools etc. and makes them available to colleagues at SAP.
  • Collaborate and co-innovate with the respective development teams



This position is targeted towards the Technology & Performance team in Customer Success, Global Center Of Expertise (CoE).


  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, or Engineering (in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics & Electrical, or other engineering fields)
  • Minimum Job Experience: 3 Years
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers and management, both internal and external.
  • Other languages are an asset
  • Good understanding of general computer concepts, IT service tasks, infrastructure concepts and operating systems, general database knowledge
  • Experience in software development, ideally with ABAP
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Willing to travel to SAP customers worldwide. Occasional weekend work may be required.


Minimum 3 years of experience in

  • SAP NetWeaver stack functionalities such as memory management, enqueue handling,
  • SAP NetWeaver system configuration and setup including HA/DR
  • SAP workload management
  • Optimization of single user executions and good knowledge of SAP performance tracing tools
  • Concurrency and load test executions and monitoring
