Job Overview:
The Implementation Project Consultant (IPC)is responsible for implementing SAP Concur services to a broad client base across Australia and New Zealand, and further.

This includes fulfilling the roles of project manager and functional expert in the implementation. These include project management, solution design, hands-on service configuration, client project team training, client testing/validation support, go-live support, and post-implementation support such as Expert Care and Expansion of the customer's portfolio.

Depending on services contracted, the IPC will also have overall leadership responsibility when Travel IPM, Functional Consultants, Technical Consultants, or extended services resources join the project.


  • Manage multiple concurrent complex, global, multi-phased implementations following SAP Concur’s implementation methodology
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all parts of the project, ensuring quality, timeliness and customer success
  • Build relationships to effectively communicate and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Anticipate, and mitigate risks to deliver a great customer experience, as measured by Customer Effort Survey
  • Manage client expectations, drive client deliverables, and exercise scope control to ensure the project completes on schedule - including across multiple time zones
  • Conduct customer-facing workshops and presentations for customer project teams independently.
  • Provide consultative expertise to guide customers through key decisions and alternatives to maintain project scope and timeline
  • Quickly and effectively gather client’s business requirements to design and configure SAP Concur services.
  • Configure product according to business requirements gathered during the design phase, remaining within scope for the lifecycle of the project.
  • Creatively design solutions for complex requirements and write core product design documents following SAP Concur’s established methodology.
  • Develop and maintain strong functional and technical product knowledge
  • Effectively communicate and work with C-Level sponsors, internal and client project teams, international and multi-cultural clients
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas and persuade clients to adopt the recommended solution
  • Stay organized and deliver on commitments timely and accurately, including updating any project tracking systems and fulfilling the administrative responsibilities of a Project Manager
  • Effective status reporting, project budget management and timeline management
  • Quickly ramp up on new releases and product functionality to ensure successful implementation of these features for clients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the implementation team to develop and deliver web-based training/presentations covering a range of service topics.
  • Serve as an internal role model through leadership, professionalism, active communications and consistency in delivering outstanding results.
  • Lead or represent the department on cross-functional teams and initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation processes to reduce deployment timeframe while achieving targeted implementation customer survey results
  • Provide contributions to SAP Concur’s project methodology and document library
  • Meet or exceed deployment productivity and quality metrics
  • Deliver outstanding client service to achieve high implementation survey scores
  • Work effectively with peers, other departments, and management


Education, Experience & Training required:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • Degree in Accounting or Information Systems emphasis preferred
  • 3+ years of project management experience or related field
  • 2+ years of software consulting experience implementing financial or hosted applications
  • Experience with financial applications and knowledge of accounting processes
  • Implementation methodology experience and certifications a plus
  • Full life-cycle financial system implementation experience
  • ­­Ability to pass a background check
