About the team

Join us on our journey to continuously develop, tune, and operate a distributed multi-tenant cloud system! We are a multi-cultural team with diverse personalities, with bright, fact-driven minds that like to challenge each other in order to ultimately achieve the best possible outcome. We work with a lot of different technologies offering diverse opportunities for learning and specialisation.

As a part of the Technology & Innovation (T&I) board area, we are responsible for building the SAP Master Data Integration (SAP MDI) service. SAP MDI is a central hub to which applications from all over SAP’s product portfolio can integrate to synchronize their master data. Our service is built as a distributed system and based on event sourcing, using technologies like Kafka. In order to keep our code base simple and easy to understand we are using ReasonML, a functional programming language that leverages both the JavaScript and OCaml ecosystems. The code is organized as a monorepo and we embrace trunk-based development to enable fast development cycles. We heavily rely on Docker and Kubernetes to build and deploy our various services to the cloud multiple times per day. Within our team, we strive to continuously improve our service, its technology, the way we operate, and how we want to best organize our work in order to enable our consumers to run at their best. We offer room for experimentation, embrace promising new ideas, and are open to change less fruitful habits.
