Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA. As a part of the foundational plane of the SAP Cloud Platform, we are responsible for building the SAP Cloud Platform Master Data Integration service, which is based on event sourcing and relies on technologies like Kafka. Our service is built based on a monorepo with ReasonML (https://reasonml.github.io/), a functional programming language that leverages both the JavaScript and OCaml ecosystems. We heavily rely on Docker and Kubernetes to build and deploy our various services to SAP Cloud Platform multiple times per day.

We are looking for highly motivated working students / interns who want to join our DevOps team.
Your tasks will include:

  • Add Improvements to the GitHub workflow which go beyond the out-of-the box feature set 
  • Streamline our CI/CD execution in Jenkins
  • Fine-tune our monorepo build tool (rush / bazel)
  • Establish static code checks for Node.js or ReasonML
  • Build project-specific linters
  • Setup automated code scans for various purposes such as vulnerability and security scans
  • Provide visibility of the current level of software quality to our development team
  • Automated generation of API documentation from source code

… and other good ideas on how to improve our software quality & development process you can bring to the table.


  • Student (f/m/d) of computer science or a related field at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Passion for build tools and software development processes
  • Experience with at least one programming language
  • Knowledge or experience with functional programming beneficial
  • Knowledge or experience with testing and test methodologies beneficial
  • Ability to work within a team, while being able to self-manage and organize tasks
