PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

In the Commercial Team for SAP (Schweiz) AG we are a community of trusted advisors and recognized Business Partners to our local Sales Organization as well as to our Global Commercial Finance Organisation. Our primary focus is Deal Support & all related commercial matters – providing best in class, efficient, value-adding business partnering to the sales and consulting organization to ensure they maximize the potential of their sales cycle. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We are looking for a new Team Member to enrich our Commercial Team as Commercial Business partner for Cloud.

 

In your role as Commercial Business Partner, you will be supporting key commercial processes from deal shaping, quotation and contracting to post-sales activities. Partner-up with Sales, Global Finance and your other Commercial Business Partner Counterparts from other countries to build long term business relationships. During the sales-cycle you will need to align and orchestrate with other expert departments within Finance & Sales to ensure compliance, governance and smooth processes along the chain. From the early stages of the deal structuring through the setup of the deal in the system and the contract stage you will manage strategic deals with different Subject Matter Experts, Sales Management in a bilateral cooperation and often also in a virtual environment.

 

 Your major areas of responsibility are:

  • Lead deal support across multi-functional internal teams (Commercial Business Partners, Rev Rec, Controlling, Finance, Legal) on complex and strategic deal scenarios;
  • Collaborate with Sales to understand customer requirements to help, find or develop compliant solutions and facilitate a fast deal closure.
  • Review with sales team the received customer feedback during contract negotiations, identify issues that can and cannot be negotiated, identify specific issues that need further attention;
  • Participate in strategic customer negotiations to support Sales & Field Legal with Commercial Matter.
  • Working with the Revenue Recognition Subject Matter Experts, Legal counsels, Field Finance and other in-house experts to advise on potential revenue recognition, legal and financial issues;
  • Partner with the Sales Teams as they execute the Quote To Cash (Q2C) process;
  • Be the deal support contact for the sales teams in order to assist in all aspects of the Q2C process;
  • Driving decision making process taking into account all various factors such as: customer requirements; field organization business targets and needs; internal rules and restrictions; financial risks and compliance matters; escalation management where appropriate;
  • Ensure Compliance with corporate guidelines and management policies;
  • Closely collaborate and interact with management teams along strategic and operational goals;
  • Advise on Strategic deal structures provided by the Sales Teams;
  • Provide Field Enablement and training.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Diploma/Master degree in finance, business or law. MBA with legal focus preferred.
  • Experience with contracts or customer negotiations is an advantage
  • Excellent language competency, verbal & writing, in English and German is a must – French is an advantage
  • Proficiency in SAP CRM and/or ERP incl. MS office tools
  • A Team-player with a can-do attitude
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to translate complex topics into simple words
  • Open Minded with the big picture in view
  • Collaborative style to work in virtual environment across different teams in a matrix organization
  • Self-motivated and independent
  • Ability to work under time pressure with accuracy & commitment
  • Good Listening skills and attention to detail

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years professional working experience in Finance, preferably close to legal, commercial or sales operations.
  • Experience in the SAP eco-system either in commercial deal support, selling, delivering, supporting business or controlling required.
  • Revenue Recognition or Pricing knowledge is an advantage.
  • Prior SAP experience is an advantage.
