With the newly founded unit of SAP Sovereign Cloud, we are defining the future of sovereign cloud infrastructure for public sector and regulated industries – with unparalleled security, flexibility, and scale.
This is where innovation meets execution – and we are looking for a stellar Cloud Development Architect to be part of our journey.
As a Development Architect Cloud, you play a vital role in the Product Enablement team within SAP Sovereign Cloud, including the following key responsibilities:
- You will strongly support the Product Enablement team and the Chief Architect in all architectural challenges and questions.
- You will be working closely together with solution and product managers, enterprise architects, our DevOps engineers, and engineers of the overall SAP product portfolio.
- You will support individual teams in their backlog execution and coordinate the development with hyperscalers like Amazon Web Services of our target market countries.
What you bring:
To become highly successful, you have the following expertise:
- Strong technology skills and the capability to accompany development teams in their cloud transformation
- Profound knowledge of the SAP solution portfolio, focusing on S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition (e.g., S/4HANA PCE, IBP, Payroll…)
- Good understanding of infrastructure topics like networking, TCP stack, as well as access and identity management
- Strong methodological and conceptual skills paired with analytical thinking
- Proven ability to work and lead in cross-architecture teams
- Strong capability to influence without formal authority
- Strong Capability to create complex architecture documents
- Strong cultural awareness and intercultural competencies
- Ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders
Your work experience is as follows:
- Master’s in computer science or a relevant field
- Being an expert in at least two of the following topics:
- DevOps processes, e.g., CI/CD
- Harmonizing cloud landscapes
- S/4HANA Private Cloud, IBP or Payroll
- Cross-application integration
- Software delivery processes
- Security, secrecy, and certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing, delivering and maintaining SAP products
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Development Architect
- Minimum 2 years of experience in developing cloud products (private or public cloud)
With your quality-aware mindset, you are able to proactively forge the path forward, innovatively solve any challenges, and strongly collaborate with other team members across the whole organization.
You are fluent in English – both verbal and written.
Due to the classified nature of our work, your willingness is required to subject yourself to a governmental security clearance process and thus have an EU, NATO or FIVE EYES country member nationality.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 159900 - 367000(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
