TripIt is looking for Software Engineering Manager to help build next-generation microservices and API’s using cloud-first concepts and technologies including containerization, serverless architecture, and increased use of native AWS tools and services and best practices. You are organized, positive, creative, and focused on the user always. You know when to make decisions and when to ask questions. You also know when to rely your engineers. You are obsessed with detail and love finding new ways to solve users’ problems. Above all, you love to build terrific products.

 

THE VALUE YOU DELIVER

• Work effectively with Technical Product Managers to own & ensure delivery against agreed priorities.

• Build high performing teams by attracting, hiring, retaining, and coaching top talent by building rely across the organization.

• Grow team and guide the career development of team members, including both technical and interpersonal skills necessary for being effective and successful in a professional-software engineering organization.

• Provide systematic and direct individual performance feedback focused on recognition of achievement and opportunities for growth.

• Own cloud services end to end, delivering distributed systems using AWS services and best practices such as zero-downtime production deployments, frequent deployments, and feature-flag-driven development.

• Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's/Master’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.

• Outstanding professional experience in software engineering, including managing engineering teams.

• Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end solutions from design through delivery.

• Very good understanding of one or more of Python, PHP, Vue, NodeJS and other modern programming languages.

• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with technical product managers, architects, and technical teams across different product areas.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies, and frameworks.

• Acute understanding of the importance of accountability and ownership around a service and commitment to the customer

• Experience with Docker, Continuous Delivery and Observability, AWS services such as Fargate, ECS, Cloudformation, and a broader array of AWS tools and services.

• Familiarity with common security tools and compliance standards that impact software development and runtime reliability.

• Experience in Travel Technology or consumer facing apps is a huge plus.
