The Visual Designer will be responsible to preserve and grow the visual brand for TripIt. This position will support the Creative Brand team, and report to the Senior Manager of Brand and Design Strategy. The Creative Brand team works closely and supports many of the internal teams within TripIt, which requires this position to be able to work comfortably in multi-disciplinary teams and be able to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines as well as team needs.

 

The Visual Designer position will be required to work on both digital and print projects, will need experience designing for email marketing as well as be expected to support the digital illustration side of our brand. This position will also be required to be able to switch designing for B2C to B2B.

Responsibilities:

  • Create visual designs that effectively communicate our brand with the end-user always in mind (Web Banners, Print Collateral, Email Marketing, Presentation Materials, Event Materials).
  • Rationalize complex business objectives and user needs; creating whatever materials necessary to communicate and visualize solutions that can be easily understood by our end users.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members and business stakeholders throughout the project design lifecycle.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Exercise a strong foundation in design fundamentals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Comfortable with some ambiguity and able to shift priorities when needed.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.

 

Education, Experience & Training required:

  • 3+ years of professional design and marketing experience.

 

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong creative portfolio demonstrating experience in print and web (UX experience not required, but a plus).
  • Strong proficiency with current versions of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and InDesign), Sketch and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Expertise in designing digital illustrations is required.
  • Working knowledge of layout fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and its constraints. 
  • Experience designing for the consumer/end-user (B2C) as well as designing for businesses (B2B).
  • Strong typography and layout skills.
  • Experience contributing to a creative environment; high comfort level with brainstorm and critique processes.
  • High enthusiasm, creativity, initiative, and innovation.
  • Ability to stand up for your ideas, but also know when to flex and incorporate new ideas for the betterment of the project / team / company.
  • Customer service-minded communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Displays a passion for what you do and a drive to improve.
  • Sense of humor.
