The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is transforming to drive sustainable business outcomes by continuously elevating the strategic positioning to “Unleash the power of procurement to help SAP run at its best”. This transformation is necessary to keep up with the fast-changing environment, develop into a digital organization, meet the Board’s ambitious growth plans, and support SAP’s strategy.

The Sourcing Excellence Champions (SEC) team is responsible for sourcing, negotiation, contracting activities and supplier management across the globe. The SEC Team is supporting several categories like Professional Services, Marketing and IT Infrastructure Services. The Services include, but not limited to, HR related Services, Consulting Services, Development, Marketing Events, Advertisement, Market Research and Branding.

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with a background in global procurement and strong experience in supporting Japan Market, to join our team in Shanghai.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong capability in global procurement, a team player and building relationships with key stakeholders. Furthermore, the candidate should work in close collaboration with regional team members from DACH, EMEA and US region.

 

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

  • Develops, supports and implements programs/ strategies, to meet GPO saving goals and targets
  • Demonstrates good capacity for evaluating suppliers, sourcing, analyzing proposals and negotiation
  • Works independently within given area of responsibility and in collaboration with stakeholder
  • Executes complex sourcing projects on a local, regional and global level. Prepares the sourcing and contracting based on facts and figures as result of an analysis
  • Participate in procurement projects with cross-regional or cross-category focus
  • Ensures compliance in relation to SAP´s policies and guidelines and works closely with SAP legal, audit, compliance and data protection team
  • Contributes to strategy execution and conduct market analysis and track market trends
  • Knows and understands the SAP corporate strategy and the strategy of his/her area of procurement
  • Enhance purchasing related processes to best-in-class procurement processes

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • University degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • Familiar on Marketing and Facility indsutry procurement processes
  • Knowledge in procurement processes, data analytical skills, negotiation, and communication skills (especially regarding Japanese stakeholders and vendors)
  • Collaboration and communication skills, team player, ability to work in virtual international teams
  • Project management skills and MS-Office knowledge (MS-Office, Word, PPT and Excel)
  • SAP system knowledge (incl. ARIBA, Fieldglass) is a plus
  • Languages: Must be proficient in business Japanese (written, spoken). Must be proficient in English.   Korean language capabilities will be an added advantage.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing or tactical procurement within indirect procurement environments, ideally in a multinational environment (e.g. advanced degree in purchasing or related field) focusing on Japan market for categories of MKT, Facility, and/or professional service
