Purpose of the job:      

To create a vision, a mission and an execution plan for Expert Services in South East Asia, Korea and Japan. The team has the mandate to attend to the consulting needs of large enterprise implementing products from the SAP Hybris portfolio. The job requires close relationship with other departments, namely but limited to, regional services representatives, sales, pre-sales, support, channel, customer engagements executives, all of them across its region as well as APJ & Greater China. The director must be able to work together with people from the departments mentioned to create business and action plans in order to engage the department’s professionals with SAP Hybris’ customers. The Director of Expert Services must plan, resource and staff the department, on the basis of a business plan to be created by him and approved by his superior.

The position requires regular travel throughout SEA-KR-JP as well as worldwide occasionally.

Reporting to the incumbent are: All roles in the department, namely but not limited to Engagement/Delivery Managers, Enterprise/Solution Architects, Principal Consultants, Business Analysts and Senior Consultants.



Principal Accountabilities:


  • Line Management responsibility for the Expert Services team in SEA-KR-JP
  • Recruiting of the team and staffing of projects across the region
  • Expert Services budget responsibility for the department, including revenue and cost
  • Utilization targets responsibility for the region
  • To develop the business in the region in line with company sales in SEA-KR-JP
  • Positive contribution to the ongoing enhancement of hybris service standards
  • Actively involved in working with the marketing, sales, pre-sales and channel teams, as appropriate
  • Coordinate the work of the Engagement Managers involved in the department’s projects, be it in the pre sales or in the sales phase
  • Communicate with senior level at hybris, SAP, partners and customers to provide appropriate support during the pre-sales phase and ensure high quality delivery in the project phase
  • Responsibility for the services delivery for customers of the company, including but not limited to:
    • Support successful project implementation phase on business, conceptual and programming level through various consulting activities, delivered by the team, as required
    • Second level escalation management in terms of product, service and maintenance
    • Ensure all service revenue and margin opportunities are maximized
    • Promote SAP Hybris’ Expert Services approach and service offerings to partners and customers








University degree in computer science, business administration or comparable education or job experience. An MBA is an advantage.


Professional Experience:


  • Sound experience in managing Professional Services teams with line management responsibility
  • Sound eCommerce experience is mandatory
  • Experience with omniCommerce is an advantage
  • Previous experience in building up a business unit is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a software product or services company
  • Sound understanding of technical principles
  • English speaking is mandatory
  • Other languages are an advantage
  • Sound knowledge in all MS Office tools
  • Achievement orientation, creative thinking and enthusiasm
  • Open-minded, strong in communication and self-motivated (ability to pick up things quickly)
  • Excellent communication skills, up to C-level both internally at SAP Hybris and with external organizations
  • Very good presentation skills and strong organizational skills





Very good English language skills (verbal & written)

Other Asian languages are an advantage

Regular travel to customer and partner sites as well as other SAP offices across SEA, Korea and Japan (expected about 50% travel).
