The development center of SAP in Bulgaria is technology-focused and plays key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. With its more than 1350 professionals, SAP Labs Bulgaria also has strong contributions towards life-cycle management, user interface & user experience across the broader portfolio of SAP products. We are looking for a talented, team-oriented, innovative, and results-driven Development Manager, who likes to follow agile engineering practices and is enthusiastic to contribute to SAP’s sustainability product portfolio. In this role you will build up, lead, and develop our new Sustainability engineering team in Sofia by working in a cross-functional organization who values trust, respect, and diversity. We are looking for people who share our passion for creating products that people love to use. To thrive in this role, you are someone who appreciates close collaboration, open communication, and feedback.



  • Following a dual leadership model, you are the line manager for a software engineering team next to corresponding functional leads
  • Establish and lead a cross-functional highly performing engineering team concerning engineering and social aspects, following Agile and Scrum methodology
  • Contribute to teams’ success by ensuring high engagement of all team members in close collaboration with engineering leadership
  • Guide the professional development of individual contributors and support individuals by an appropriate choice of training
  • Define metrics of success for each individual in their role
  • Assess individuals’ performance in relation to the expectations of the role
  • Collect 360-degree feedback and conduct coaching for further development



  • University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or similar
  • Experience in managing and leading a team, as an approachable person
  • Passionate about people matters and helping others to improve and excel
  • Deep understanding and experience with agile methodologies
  • Profound knowledge about entire Cloud software development lifecycle is an advantage
  • Experience in recruiting, ideally within engineering teams is an advantage
  • Experience in implementing learning and development programs and growing individuals within a company
  • Coaching mentality and experience in mediation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent leadership skills with a high degree of personal initiative
  • Management of stakeholders and their expectation



  • Overall 5+ years of relevant and professional experience
  • Working experience in global, multi-cultural and virtual teams
