SAPs intention is to be The Cloud Company powered by HANA. We learned from successful cloud companies that the Development organization must take over the responsibility not only for development but also for the successful operations of our services. 

We establish a Support Team in our organization that shall proactively drive continuous improvement of the whole productive landscape and coordinate incident and problem management across the layers and development teams. With their broad technical knowledge about the infrastructure, the services and the platform they can solve incidents, drive and implement automation and develop internal tools and scripts. 

The mission of the team is to provide, protect and improve the software and systems behind productive systems on SAP HANA Cloud Service with an ever-watchful eye on their availability, performance, and capacity. 



  • Monitor and operate customer’s instances of our SAP HANA cloud solutions, as well as proactively monitor incident and ticketing systems/queues 
  • Ensure fast troubleshooting, resolution, root cause analysis and improvement measures in case of incidents 
  • Work on service requests and customer queries 
  • Take part of and drive global team projects (e.g. setting up our Cloud solutions in new Data Centers; creating/optimizing procedures and processes, onboarding new application solutions and services, optimizing our processes and many others) 
  • Work in a cross-functional agile team collaborating closely with operations and development colleagues in an international environment 
  • Work on shifts as this is a 24/7 team with possibility to periodically rotate to dayshifts. 



  Required skills: 

  • Experience and knowledge in Cloud technologies and Cloud Services (Amazon, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, AliCloud) 
  • Database Administration skills (MySQL, transactional databases) 
  • Experience in operating systems in the Cloud environment 
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and related processes 
  • Issue resolution experience, including Root Cause Analysis 
  • Experience in working in tight deadlines under pressure and working efficiently in emergency situations 
  • Customer oriented, self-motivated and pro-active working attitude, as well as desire to work in fast changing environment, acquiring and sharing knowledge and improving processes 
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal 


Preferred skills: 

  • Knowledge in SAP HANA (or other in-memory databases) is a strong plus 
  • Containers knowledge – Kubernetes, Docker 
  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems and network architectures 
  • Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, databases 
  • Strong technical Cloud IaaS knowledge 
  • Strong project management skills 


Education and Work Experience: 

  • University degree in Computer Science or related field 
  • The position is open for student graduates or candidates with little experience
  • Fluent English
