SUMMARY & ROLE INFORMATION

One of our large customers has setup a transformation program called Journey to Cloud (J2C). A cornerstone of this transformation is to consume the entire SAP landscape as SaaS provided by SAP. In order to provide the right level of service, it has been decided to build a new team within Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS). The ECS Client Delivery Management (CDM) will provide an E2E service, working dedicated for the customer and operating the entire customer SAP landscape with more than 80 productive systems and several of the largest HANA-based systems (e.g. 2x24TB ERP scale-out).  

Within the CDM organization we set up the Technical Service Management (TSM) team that handle all operational aspects. For this team we’re looking for experienced technical (senior) consultants with a strong customer focus to become a Technical Landscape Owner. 

In your new role you will oversee all aspects of operation for environments with a focus of understanding and controlling dependencies. To provide the best customer experience, you will work on the optimization of our technical services and collaborate closely with all teams in the CDM organization.
Key responsibilities & tasks

  • Align on planning activities and system build processes, define Handover criteria before any environment will be released for the customer
  • Discuss and align with the Release Management on upcoming changes  
  • Ensure high availability of customer service by supporting service restoration in critical situation  
  • Analyze and deep dive on issues including creation of RCAs as foundation for continuous improvement 
  • Support of productization of services including, if required initial setup, documentation and standardization 
  • Drive automation of services and improvement of existing automation via close collaboration with CLM development as well as MCD Productization team 

EXPERIENCE / ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Mathematics or comparable
  • Background in SAP technology and products – especially excellent knowledge in SAP NetWeaver Administration and Operations and cross-dependencies like integration
  • Knowledge of the whole technology stack (Application, Database, Server management) and the ability to analyze issues and system architectures 
  • Technical Expertise in SAP Installations and Upgrades in multi-regional environments
  • Ability to own and coordinate operational tasks, customer escalations, process improvements
  • Competency to take critical decisions and working under high pressure
  • Be a team player and able to inspire and energize team with strong technical, verbal and written communication skills (English / German)
  • Flexibility to work on weekends/off hours during critical customer escalations, cut-overs or go-lives
  • 8+ years of experience as SAP Basis consultant / System Admin or in a similar role
