About the team

 

The APJ Innovation Office Digital Labs team is a part of the regional presales-organization at SAP. We are a diverse team of UX designers, data scientists and developers crafting business process flows, designing exciting mockups and building amazing prototypes for our customers. We work distributed in several countries as Singapore, Japan, Korea, India and Australia.

What you’ll do:

 

Position title: Intern at APJ IO Digital Labs for prototype development

Location: Japan – please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopening

Expected start date to end date: August 1st, 2022, or later for 3 to 6 months

In this role, you’ll:

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to work on prototyping topics. This involves using our SAP business solutions as well as the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) which is SAP’s cloud platform for our customers.

We are offering exciting prototyping projects to work in the field of connected plants, Internet of Things (IoT), Digital supply chain and more. We like to combine disciplines, so machine learning scenarios are often a part of what we do.

In your role you would work on an assignment where a business use case must be brought with the help of latest SAP and Non-SAP technologies to a working prototype. These prototypes will then be used for customer demonstration, in our Experience Center, events and social media activities.

The expectation is to work with support of our Digital Lab team on:

  1. Work on a prototype using SAP and Non-SAP technology for an Industry 4.0, Mobile technologies, system integration or a similar scenario. This can encompass the usage of ML/AI solutions and new technologies that we want to evaluate.
  2. Working together as a team of interns to plan together, share work packages.
  3. Learn how to plan, manage, and run projects.
  4. Document and present the outcomes of the prototype within SAP or social media.

 

Education and qualifications/ Skills and Competencies needed for this role:

 

  • University student
  • Hands on experience in developing innovative applications using modern technology platforms and cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, or SAP BTP.
  • Programming expertise in any of these fields: C, C++, Go, JavaScript/ Node.js or Python.
  • Ideally exposure to machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn). This is not a must.
  • Knowledge of a UI framework like Angular or React is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes will be useful.
  • If available it’s a plus: knowledge of microcontroller programming (Arduino, ESP32, STM32 and the like).
  • Ability to communicate in English language (not to perfection), any other language an asset.
